In this class you'll make one of two pie crusts, depending on whether you want a double or single crust pie; and you'll leave with your pie crust to bake at home. I'll demo my favorite puff pastry dough (easy peasy) and my new favorite: Slab Pie. You'll have a great "Taster's table" and receive a CD with all the recipes and information that will be helpful in your holiday baking. We’ll also learn why your bread may not have risen, or rose too much, why your bread was dry, had holes in it, or was doughy in the center. You'll learn how to measure flour, which is the single most important thing in bread making and baking. You'll also learn to understand what may kill your yeast. I'll demo bagels and cinnamon rolls, and how to shape and bake your rolls/bread. You'll be able to sample the bread, bagels, and cinnamon rolls; and leave with a CD that will have all the recipes for the breads we discuss and additional information you may find helpful. DANCE - WEST COAST SWING - BEGINNING* [Choi-Haun, S.] West Coast Swing is a fusion dance that originated in the late 1940’s as lindy-hop became more and more popular on the Western Coast of America and a new style of music called Rock n’ Roll emerged. It is an improvised dance on an imaginary Slo that gives the follower (traditionally female) the freedom to stylize her movements within the framework of her lead (traditionally male). The freedom of the dance attracts many dancers with backgrounds that range from Ballet, Tap, Hip-hop, Cheer and other forms of Ballroom who are looking for a great and exciting experience in the Partner Dancing realm. In this beginning class partners will be maximizing the social dance experience by dancing with many different partners throughout the course (Partners are welcome).
