Overview of Pakistan economy. Important problems of economy: Population growth, Low level of income, saving and investments. Unemployment and poverty. Substandard and poor infrastructure and technology. Inflation. Macro imbalances: fiscal deficits, trade deficits, public debt. Governance: service delivery system, inefficient institutions, corruption, Environmental Degradation, depletion of resources and unsustainable development. Industrialization and industrial problems, human capital formation. Importance of Agriculture in Pakistan’s economy. Farm level Problems: problems relating to resources, agricultural structure, land, water, agricultural production and productivity, and farm mechanization. Major public and private problems of agricultural policies and action programs of government and individual to deal with them. Limitations encountered.
