Senator Joe Lieberman Visits Lehrman Community Day School On Miami Beach S enator Joe Lieberman recently visited the Lehrman Day School, located at 727 77th Street on Miami Beach. Although Lieberman was promoting the election of Senator John McCain, his compelling message is very relevant in the post-election time period. Lieberman was the first Democrat to run for vice-president of the United States. He later changed his party affiliation to Independent, and was on the campaign trail to endorse a Republican candidate. He stated that, his Hebrew name is Yoseph, who was known as “the dreamer,” and that it is in the Jewish nature, “to dream.” Senator Lieberman shared his philosophy, “Forget Democrat or Republican, and do something good for this country.” He urged the crowd to understand that, “Country matters more than party.” The affable Lieberman held the audience with a combination of humor and a common sense approach to the politics of the day. He stated that, “Joe the plumber is not a rich man. He is what America is all about, opportunity!” A short question and answer session followed. A lovely brunch was served.
