Team fit report
Senior accounts manager, 05-01-18
Lectical Level—Lectical Level is a score on the Lectical Scale, a lifespan developmental scale based on Dr. Kurt Fischer’s Dynamic Skill Scale. Scores on the Lectical Scale represent increasing complexity. In the case of the LDMA, they represent increasing complexity in real-world decision-making.
Fit-to-role — Fit-to-role is the relation between the complexity level of an individual’s reasoning and the complexity level of a given role.
Clarity—Clarity involves the degree to which an individual’s arguments are coherent and persuasive, how well their arguments are framed, and how well their ideas are connected. Individuals who think more clearly make better decisions and grow more rapidly than individuals who think less clearly.
VUCA skills—These are skills for perspective coordination, decision-making under complexity, contextual thinking, and collaboration. VUCA skills are required for making good decisions in volatile, uncertain, complex, or ambiguous contexts.
Metrics
About this reportIn this report you will find three types of results—Lectical Level, Fit-to-Program, and Fit-to-Program with Clarity score.
Lectical Level: The Lectical Level slide depicts candidate scores in relation to one another. On this slide we can see who received higher or lower scores, but there isn’t any way to use these scores to predict hire success. In other words, we don’t know how these scores relate to the requirements of the role being filled. Simply choosing the highest scoring candidates is not a great idea, because overqualified candidates are not only likely to be bored and unhappy, they are likely to have difficulty working well with other team-members.
Role fit: The next [slide | slides] show[s] how candidates’ Lectical Scores relate to the complexity of the role being filled. Results are color-coded to indicate which candidates are a better fit. Candidates demonstrating good fit are moved to the next step.
Role fit with Clarity and VUCA Scores: The candidate comparison [slide | slides] show[s] side-by-side role fit, clarity, and VUCA scores for the candidates demonstrating good fit-to-role.

Recommendations
Martin received marginal fit-to-role, low Clarity, and adequate VUCA scores. Low clarity is associated with poor decision making and slow growth. We advise against moving him to the next step in your recruitment process.
Jewel Nile received high fit-to-role, Clarity, and VUCA scores. Move her to the next step in your recruitment process.
Yiyu received high fit-to-role, and acceptable Clarity and VUCA scores. If you are willing to allow 12–18 months for building clarity and VUCA skills, move her to the next step in your recruitment process.
Alistair received marginal fit-to-role and adequate Clarity and VUCA scores. Consider moving him to the next step in your recruitment process, but only if you are willing to allow 12-18 months for building Clarity and VUCA skills.

During the first step in our process, we decided to eliminate Celia, Amar, Chilemba, and Jae-Eun from our selection process.
Their fit-to-role was so poor that they just weren’t suited for this position. However, this doesn’t mean they would make poor employees. In fact, all of these candidates have very good Clarity and VUCA scores, and might be excellent candidates for other open positions within your organization.

What’s next?
By selecting the most mentally qualified candidates early in the hiring process, you ensure that only the most qualified candidates make it into the most expensive final rounds of your recruitment process. You can evaluate personality or culture fit, conduct team evaluations, view candidate presentations, and conduct interviews, confident that your final candidates are equipped with the complex reasoning, clarity, and VUCA skills required in a given role.
