Senior Civil Estimator

Must possess a relevant Post Secondary Diploma/Degree with 10+ years of estimating experience in piling, heavy civil earthworks, site services and concrete formwork & placing

Role Summary:

Demonstrate leadership and communication skills. Mentor junior and intermediate civil estimators. Work with subordinates and ‘explain' various items of work. Coordinate and cooperate with the mechanical and electrical estimating department. Effectively prepare and develop Cost Codes for Operations. Take-off on all or most trades Pricing labour, material and equipment Pricing cost of General Conditions Analyzing subcontractor scope and selecting most complete and competitive price Complete tender form and close a tender on closing day, effectively and in a timely

manner Understand the workings and sequencing of a project including construction schedule,

tie-in, shut-downs. Meet tender closing deadlines and perform effectively at day of bid close under tight

schedules Manage multiple tenders at one time. Expand subcontract solicitation. Obtain and negotiate best possible pricing from suppliers and subcontractors within

company Code of Ethics. Organize a detailed approach to take-off such that no scope of work is overlooked Ability to read and understand Specifications and prepare detailed bid recap sheets Ability to review drawings and specifications to extract complete scope of work Ability to understand quotations

Requirements:

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Experience with a variety of Estimating software  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

SALARY ranges from $100,000 to $150,000 base salary
