Interim Director of Senior Ministries
Tammy Follensbee has assumed the role of Interim Director of Senior Ministries at All Saints Lutheran Church. Tammy has a long history with All Saints; she and her family have been active here since 2005. In addition to volunteering with senior ministry, Tammy has served as a worship coordinator, usher and communion server. She has also helped launch the new 5th/6th grade youth group at All Saints. For the past 5 years, Tammy has served on staff, initially as wedding coordi-nator and most recently as our social media/website administrator. In addition to her gentle, caring demeanor and deep love for the church, Tammy brings a wealth of passion, experience, and specialized education to senior ministry. In 2017 she completed a de-gree in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. She has also been a ded-icated hospice volunteer. Tammy finds great satisfaction in journeying alongside older adults and learning from their life experience. She appreciates the sense of perspective to be gained from spending time with someone who is a “walking talking history book” and treasures experiences she’s had with elders of “holding their hands while hearing their stories.” As a busy mother and grandmother who values intergenerational connection, Tammy recognizes the need for rich, en-gaging opportunities for younger retirees in a changing senior ministry landscape, while also be-ing mindful of the real challenges and isolation older people sometimes face. She understands that “being present” is at the heart of effective ministry. We are equally grateful that Tammy has felt called to bring her considerable gifts to this vital role, and invite you to join in prayer and cele-bration for all that God has done and continues to do through All Saints Senior Ministries.

Watch Out For Scams!
According to the National Council on Aging, it is estimated that older adults lose billions
of dollars to scammers each year. The most notable scams are from scammers who claim
to represent the Social Security Administration, tech support, lottery, and IRS. Recently
there have been scams involving the purchasing of gift cards. The scammer will email or
text from what at first looks like a trusted family member, friend, or possibly a boss or
pastor. The email or text includes detailed instructions of how to purchase and send per‐
tinent information from the gift cards . Once the gift cards have been purchased in most
cases in amounts in the hundreds of dollars, the scammer requests images of the card to
be texted along with verification codes. This is a relatively sophisticated scam in that the
perpetrator takes the time to research the victim through websites and social media. If
you feel you have been victim to a scam notify local police immediately along with your
financial institution. Police say it is very difficult to investigate the crime, but it is im‐
portant that the scam be reported. Notify your financial institution so steps can be taken
to stop payment on the transaction, if at all possible. Please note, the staff at All Saints
including pastors will not under any circumstances personally email or text any individual
in our congregation for money or to purchase gift cards. It is important that if you re‐
ceive a scam email or text that you report it to the office IMMEDIATELY!
Starting October 1, 2020, every traveler will need a compliant license, state ID, or another acceptable form of identification, like a passport or military ID, to fly anywhere within the United States. This is part of a new federal law for do‐mestic travel. State residents who do not obtain a new Travel ID will not be able to pass through TSA Security Checkpoints at Phoenix Sky Harbor Interna‐tional Airport with their existing driver licenses or state ID cards. The Arizona Department of Transportation has created a web‐site with handy links to apply for an ID, schedule an appoint‐ment, and read FAQs. Please visit AZTravelID.com to get started.
Senior Ride Service to Worship We are offering a free ride service to seniors that no longer drive. Presently, the ride ser‐vice is available for Sunday, 9:00am service only. Where Can I Park at All Saints
You DO NOT have to have an official handicap tag to use the spots on the top level. We are private property, not a public parking lot and we (ASLC staff and volunteers) monitor the parking lot. If you have a short term disability or a chronic mo‐
bility issue, you are welcome to use the marked handicap spots without having a handicap tag. We trust that those who can walk further will park on a lower level.
NEW to NOTE: There are 2 spots marked with reserved signs that say
Operated by Envoy America. These spots are reserved for the Envoy America cars that are part of our new, free Senior Transportation Pro‐gram. Please leave those spots for the Envoy cars.
