Couples’ Marriage Retreat- There has been a change or two to our Couples’

Marriage Retreat. It will be held in Florence on Friday evening Feb. 15th beginning at

7pm and Saturday Feb.16th beginning at 9am. The cost will be $50.00 per couple which

includes a catered dinner on Friday and a sandwich lunch bar on Saturday. We plan to

end on Saturday by 1pm. Please sign up by Jan. 13th if you plan to attend.

Life Groups– We’ll begin a new Sunday Evening Series - Gospel by J. D. Greear

this evening. The gospel is the power of God. It produces within believers a hear t

that desires God. And it’s the only true source of joy, freedom, radical generosity, and

audacious faith. Our Life Groups will be going deeper with this study. If you would like

to connect with new families and grow deeper with our new series together, please see

the list of available groups on our Connection Board and sign up.

Refuge Winter Retreat Parent Meeting– We will have a Parent Meeting for all

parents of students attending the Refuge Winter Retreat this Wednesday, Jan. 9th immedi-

ately following worship. The final balances due for students attending the retreat need to

paid by Jan. 13th. Please see Pastor Ryan if you have any questions.

Life University– Growing in the Knowledge of Him- We invite you to

come grow with us by attending one of our Life University classes being held on Sunday

evenings at 5pm beginning today. The following classes are being offered: Old

Testament Survey, New Testament Survey, Basic Bible Doctrine, Financial Peace, and

Bible Journaling. A list of classes, the teachers for each class, and class locations has

been posted on the Connection Board. University

Church-Wide Information

Building & Grounds Committee Meeting– There will be a Building &

Grounds Committee meeting this evening after worship. Please plan to meet in the

conference room.

Women on Mission Meeting– Our monthly WMU meeting will be held this

Tuesday at 6:30pm. All ladies are welcomed to attend.

SideKicks’ Dinner & Worship Service– Are you a SideKick? If you are 55+

you qualify! Come join us this Friday, Jan. 11th at 6:30 for a potluck dinner followed by

worship with a guest speaker. Please sign up on the Connection Board if you plan to

attend.

Strong Men Needed This Wednesday– If you are a man with a strong back, or

have a truck and/or trailer, we need your help. The stage in the fellowship hall needs to

be stored away . It won’t take long but we could definitely use a few strong men to help

move it to one of the back bins. Plan to meet in the fellowship hall after church.

KidsTown Cookie Cookoff– All KidsTown Kids are invited to a Cookie Cook-off

in our fellowship hall next Saturday from 10am –12pm. We’ll provide the cookie dough

and a toppings bar for them to create a cookie masterpiece.

KidsTown & Refuge Students

Christmas Cards– If you have not picked up your Christmas Cards, please get them

today at the Welcome Center.

Ordination of Pastor Ryan Willis- All members are invited to attend the

Ordination Questioning of Pastor Ryan next Saturday, Jan. 12th beginning at 9am. We

will serve finger-foods following the questioning. If you are willing to supply a finger-

food, please sign up on the Connection Board. Pastor Ryan’s Ordination will be held at

6pm on Sunday evening, Jan. 13th. Rev. Bryon McIntyre will be here as our guest

speaker. We will still have KidsTown activities as scheduled.

Thank You Dinner – You are invited to a Thank You Dinner hosted by Pastor Jim

and our church staff, to thank you for the love shown, and gifts given at Christmas.

Dinner will consist of NC BBQ, soup, beans, & chips. The dinner will be held after

Pastor Ryan’s Ordination Service.

Friend Day – Friend Day will be on Feb. 2nd, 2019. Please be in prayer for and

invite your unchurched friends and family to come to Sunday School and Worship with

us beginning at 8:45am. That evening, at 6pm, we’ll have a church-wide Super Bowl

Celebration! Our Meal Committee will have a delicious dinner to be enjoyed before the

big game begins. Our annual SFBC Talent Show will begin at 7pm. Anyone interested
