    Biking Orientation & Ride Fitting the bike is essential to having a successful, enjoyable ride. Find out where the seat, backrest & handlebars best suit you. Learn how & when to effectively use hand gears, enabling you to conserve energy & ride longer. Discover the use of hand breaks & their importance on hills & corners. Orientation will also cover trail & street etiquette, hand signals & safety accessories.

    Biking Portland Sunday ParkwaysEnjoy a 8 mile traffic free route filled with surprises, performances, physical activity & food. A longer pre-registered ride will be followed by free 20-minute rides (sign up at the booth). Helmets provided, bring water, raingear & gloves for cold days. Prerequisites: ability to get on & off the bike several times for proper bike adjustment and ability to get off the bike while on a hill and push the bike if you are unable to make a section of the ride.

    REGISTRATION:Receipt of full payment is required for registration, unless otherwise arranged. Please call if you receive a returned check or declined bank card notice, either of which void registration.

    CLASSENROLLMENT:Our classes must meet minimum and maximum enrollment standards. Classes may fill quickly or be canceled due to low enrollment.

    WITHDRAWAL&REFUNDS:Please notify us at least five (5) business days (Monday-Friday), unless otherwise specified, before the start of your program so that we can refund or credit your account for the registration fee. Pre-paid materials and admission tickets cannot be refunded. Participants needing to withdraw after the program has begun are offered a prorated credit or refund based upon when the request is made.

    SCHOLARSHIPS:City of Portland residents, regardless of age, who require financial assistance may apply for partial scholarships. Contact individual centers for information.

    INCLEMENTWEATHER:If the City of Portland public school districts (Portland Public, Parkrose, David Douglas, Reynolds, and Centennial) are closed because of weather conditions, PP&R classes and youth basketball in those school districts are cancelled. However, some sites may be open for drop-in activities. Call the specific PP&R facility for information and open-ing/closing times. If inclement weather is forecast on weekends or holidays, call the PP&R facility or program for operating hours and activity cancellations.
