Dear Parents, Students and Friends of Ursula Frayne Catholic College,
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
This Sunday we celebrate Father’s Day, a day to focus on the importance of fathers in our lives and the crucial teachings that they have given us. This morning the Senior School hosted the annual Fathers’ Day Liturgy and Breakfast on the Duncan Campus. Such events are important as they afford an opportunity for us to reflect on the special place fathers and father figures have in our lives. Earlier this year on the Feast of St Joseph, who as we know, was Jesus’ earthly father, Pope Francis urged all dads in the world to s ck by their children’s side, teaching them, guiding them, and loving them. He said, “I ask that you have the grace to be very close to your children, le ng them grow, but being by their side. They need you, your presence, to be there, your love” St Joseph’s “great mission is to be a guardian,” the Pope said. A ‘saint’ is a model for all educators, whether they are teachers, catechists, parents, religious or priests. Like an educator, St Joseph guided and accompanied Jesus so he could grow in “wisdom and age and grace,” Pope Francis said. This is the same thing all parents must do, and “it would be a serious mistake to think that a father and a mother can’t do anything to teach their children to grow in God’s grace,” he said.

From the Principal cont... Even though God was Jesus’ father, St Joseph lovingly took on the paternal role and taught the young Jesus various skills, the value of work, reverence for the Lord and fidelity and obedience to God’s will. He also had to keep his family safe during the difficult period of their exile to Egypt. So, it is important for each of us to spend a moment thinking about how special our father is. Fathers, you are also encouraged to take a moment to reflect on your children and how they have grown from calling you ‘daddy’, to young people who now call you dad and hopefully s ll laugh at your dad jokes. In our some mes‐dysfunc onal world, the special rela onship between father and child can be perceived as being not so common, but events such as our Father’s Day Liturgy and Breakfast, are testament to such a significant rela onship being alive and well. Our dads are some mes the people who have paid for our special surprises, worked long hours sacrificing family me to earn a living and the one who was climbed all over when you were li le, took you to the park and bo le fed you through the night when you were at that stage and sat through numerous dance concerts and plays, despite his favourite sport team being on TV live. Students, our dads challenge, discipline, teach us values that we thought we may not need and all of this, whilst loving us uncondi onally. So, on his special day this Sunday, use it as a reminder that Father’s Day should be no more special than any other day. While dad may s ll appreciate that Bunnings Gi Voucher, let’s use Fathers’ Day as a reminder that we should show our apprecia on of dad every day as that’s what you also want him to do for you. On Sunday, let dad wear what he wants to wear without you commen ng on if the clothes match or not, let him have some “Man Time” and most of all commit to spending some quality me with each other. Pope Francis urged people to remember God the Father in heaven, but also their own fathers and every father, whether alive or deceased. My prayer for all dad’s and their children is that growth is measured and valued in the ongoing depth of your wonderful rela onship with each other. Happy Father’s Day and I thank you for the fatherly support that you give to the College daily. It certainly makes our jobs easier and more of a delight.

Chaplain’s Reflection This coming Sunday is Father's Day. Let us thank God for the gi of our fathers and let us be grateful to them for all the things they do for us. Let’s also pray for all fathers that God will give them wisdom and strength to guide their children in love towards our heavenly Father. Fathers have a great responsibility to love and to correct their children. It is not easy, but God comes to help them showing them how a father loves, forgives and corrects always with mercy. Many fathers came for our liturgy and breakfast today and all received our thanks and respect for what they do. We reflected on their hard work and we prayed that God will give them the grace to love their children as God does with us. Pope Francis sends his blessing to all fathers:
St Joseph is the model of the educator and the dad, the father. I, therefore, entrust to his protec on those who are fathers.
Best wishes to you on your day! I ask for you the grace to be ever closer to your children, allow them to grow, but be close, close!
They need you, your presence, your closeness, your love. May you be for them as St Joseph was: guardians of their growth in age, wisdom and grace.
May you guard them on their journey: be educators and walk with them. Thank you for all you do for your children: thank you.
May St Joseph bless you and accompany you. Fr Jesus Bello College Chaplain, Duncan Campus

SEQTA Engage As men oned in our no fica on a couple of weeks ago, the College is moving to a new administra on system for all Catholic schools called Administra on of Schools (AoS). This is a customised program developed with Microso to modernise and streamline digital administra on both within and across schools in WA’s Catholic educa on system. The changeover process requires us to disable all parent accounts on SEQTA Engage temporarily, and then relink all your exis ng informa on to a new SEQTA Engage account. What you can expect:
Your current SEQTA Engage account was disabled at 4pm on the Thursday 2 September 2021.
Once we have completed our system alignment to AoS (one or two days), you will receive a “Welcome to SEQTA email", with your unique link to set up a new account.
When you click on the “Set up your account" link, you will be able to choose your own username and password. We recommend using your email as your username to make it easier to remember.
If you have the SEQTA Engage App already on your phone or device, you can then re‐sign into the app.
Once you complete this setup, you will be able to use your new login details to access SEQTA Engage, just as before. For more details, please access the SEQTA Engage visual set‐up guide on our website. Thank you for your pa ence and for staying connected to your child’s journey here at the College. Mrs Veronica Parker, Vice Principal
