SENIOR SCHOOLING
The Year in Review
AIM:
To facilitate quality education programs and enhance partnerships between Sheldon College
and tertiary and other training organisations, business, industry and the community in order to
provide Senior Secondary students with Pathways to Success.
“Sheldon College is a safe environment where the teachers and students support you. Everyone
is friendly and welcoming and the discipline of the school helps us to keep focussed and do
well.” (Revati Venkatesh – Year 11)
“At Sheldon College students have good working relationships with teachers who make lessons
entertaining and engaging.”
(Kyle Stuyck – Year 11)
“Sheldon College provides multiple options in order to be prepared and in the best position to
start at University. Furthermore, the school and my peers support my career goals.”
(Karelia Moloney – Year 11)
We asked our parents and students and they told us that the myriad of pathway opportunities and
support programs provides for the needs of each individual. We aim to prepare each student with a
seamless transition from their schooling years on to the next stage of their life’s journey. We do this
through many pathway opportunities and support programs in the classroom and the workplace.
2014 saw 92% of our Graduates receiving an OP ranking of between 1 and 15 and 99.1% have been
accepted into universities and tertiary institutions of their choice. 99% of the graduates completed a
formal qualification prior to graduation.
Whether it be the offer of Early Entry University programs or links with Business, Industry, Registered
Training Organisations and the community or the mentoring, coaching and Work Experience programs,
Sheldon College students have every opportunity to experience ‘Pathways to Success’.
Unique programs offered in 2015 include: Alliance with Australian Wings Academy – In launching the
Sheldon College Aviation and Space Academy, we are able to provide students with the opportunity

and Engineering; School Internship Program – a week-long experience for Year 11 students at the
Wesley Hospital, designed to identify and support the healthcare workers of the future; the Griffith
University Applied Theatre and Film and Screen Media Programs – we are a satellite site for Griffith
