• Sentosa Silk was founded in 2004 by Ms. Seng Takakneary, a dynamic and committed businesswoman, President of the Cambodian Women Entrepreneur Association (CWEA).

Sentosa Silk had benefited in this project in so many ways,

Export Planning. Sentosa’s strength is on uniforms and interior products mostly for local distributions or tourists. We had been striving to export silk products but we don’t know how to push it. Now with the development of our “export plan”, this can help our team to work together to achieve our target, and meet our goal. Knowing our weaknesses and strength Is the start what to push and what product we need to create.As we are moving forwards to the development and achieving our export target, our team is becoming confident with our steps while we have the team experts of ITC who are working with us as we encounter different sorts of challenges.Visual merchandising and Brand identityProduct Development and Product CollectionMarketing Strategies and establishing a long term relationship with buyersCosting and Pricing, logistic computation, photo shooting, making catalog for easy selling with our new buyers and negotiating. Our Showroom

Visual Merchandising –We got our showroom re arranged by the team of expert from ITC , where the display is centralized in our strength (home and tailoring) and strengthen our color identity to gve distinctions from other stores.

We increased our sales by 10% an 20% on visitors getting into our shops.

Study Tour with different weavers in different provinces

We joined the ITC study tour in different weaving villages and saw the different expertise on each provinces.

We found 8 families to work with us in our project uniform and helped us complete with 1000 meters requirements of our clients.

We had selected the weavers from the Kosdat and Takeo to help us with our uniform project and silk fabric requirements.

New Group tht was taken from the study tour f ITC-CEDEP 1.

The woman iin yellow is Mis Kim from Kosdat while the man on the right side is my weaver who became a supervisor and quality controller , checking the quality and qunatity of the fabric , and regularly visits all the fabrics in the villages.

Store Visit – Homegoods/TJMaxxHomegoods buyer dropped by Cambodian High Value Silk booth and express liking to work with us. We got an initial inquiry on home collections and other products. Buyer of Homegoods, are also connected with other chain stores such as Marshalls, TJ Maxx, TK Maxx, Winners, Homesense.

Since they are interested with us, we investigated their stores to get idea of their pricing, product strategies to assess and check where and how we can fit in during negotiation process.

Miss Jaydene Andrew, coordinator of USA chain store buyers, appreciated our move to visit her office in New Jersey and on this regards, she asked each company to make a proto type sample of cosmetic cases reflecting each companies fabric strength and she will offer our products to their clients where we can fit in.

For new vendor, they will support by paying samples and she expressed that some of their clients may require factory compliance audit.

She will visit Cambodia either this October or April.

We had the chance to meet the designer of Ralph Lauren and they find our scarves beautiful and will fit in their design collection. They also expressed interest in Sentosa’s ilk, on top of the selection she made from the others.

The company will send us company requirement to pass the factory compliance audit, and once we passed, as a vendor, they will start working with our team
