We rely on assistance from members to enhance our
services. These volunteers help by convening
Special Interest Groups (SIGs), hosting
unconferences, sitting on active committees, advising
on new programs and services, and serving on
award committees. The behind-the-scenes hard work
done by committee members and other volunteers is
what makes SENYLRC’s ongoing service possible.
The five standing committees are:
Continuing Education (CE)
Digital Advisory (DAC)
Hospital Library Services (HLSP)
Technology Review and Advisory (TRAC)
Regional Interlibrary Loan (RIC)

Three new members added collections to HRVH.org:
Irvington Public Library, New Paltz Town Records, and
Putnam County NY History Collections
Continued contribution to Digital Public Library of
America (DPLA), led to an increase in members’
resources being used in new and interesting ways.
HRVH usage statistics are up 30% from 2014-2015.
HRVH Historical Newspapers had over 218,000 visits
and almost 11 million pages viewed.

2015-2016 at SENYLRC The past year has been an active one for us. In addition to the members
served this year by our programs and services, the Board of Trustees
has undertaken planning for Southeastern’s future. When finished, this
strategic plan will result in a 3-year plan for the council.
We are certain this plan will include ideas to grow and diversify our
programs and services. Member feedback indicates that networking
opportunities and more training are in demand. With that in mind, we
will explore ways to become a hub for members to keep their skills up-to
-date and to learn about technology and its application in libraries.
We are a network of libraries, archives, museums, and historical
societies. Between hosting Special Interest Groups, teaching members
how to digitize collections, and sharing materials with other libraries, we
are here to help you facilitate collaboration with similar organizations
and professionals in the region. Stay abreast of our latest initiatives via
our website, newsletter, and email communications!

Hospital Libraries
The Hospital Library Services
Program (HLSP) allows SENYLRC’s
hospital librarians the opportunity to
work collaboratively to enhance
services and meet increasing
demands for peer-reviewed literature.
HLSP also provides access to a
federated search system for one-stop
searching for all electronic resources,
reduced vendor pricing, and cost
savings thanks to a SENYLRC-
administered state subsidy.
The Medical Information Services
Program (MISP) subsidizes the
delivery of peer-reviewed medical
information to all types of libraries in
the region, including hospital, public,
school, and academic libraries.
