Digital actions/game changers 1.  Digital has to be at the centre of a renewed industrial policy

•  foster  the  development  of  industrial  research  and  the  creation  of  startups  •  favour  the  strengthening  of  connections  and  interactions  among,  academic  world,  industry  and  startups  •  make  better  use  of  public  sector  tools  both  on  a  national  and  on  a  regional  level  •  promote  cross-­‐sector  cooperation  though  smart  specialisation  

2.  Supporting Digital European Cross-Sector, Cross-Countries World Class Clusters 3.  Europe has to achieve a true Digital Single Market 4.  All EU citizens should be able to connect to the Internet at high speed by 2020 5.  Online trust and security are essential conditions for the development of European digital

economy 6.  Europe must exploit, recognize and drive the data and cloud revolution 7.  Our cities are laboratories for a dynamic, digital Europe 8.  Upgrading people’s skills and prepare all young people for today's and tomorrow’s jobs is key for

driving the economic recovery 9.  Europe has to become the best place to start and scale-up a digital company

•  set  the  right  policies,  in  line  with  Startup  Europe  Manifesto  recommendations  •  pool  our  resources  in  areas  like  access  to  finance  (venture  capital,  business  angels,  crowdfunding  portals)  •  work  together  to  improve  access  to  talent  •  revisit  our  taxation  policies  to  foster  investments  in  high-­‐risk  companies  •  show  thought  leadership  •  create  a  fully  integrated  European  ecosystem  (startups,  investors,  accelerators,  corporates,  universities)  to  

drive  our  economies  forward 10.  Europe needs to modernise Public Sector and the delivery of public services to remain

competitive •  streamline  administrative  procedures,  use  public  procurement  for  purchasing  innovative  goods  and  

services,  in  particular  from  SMEs  and  startups,  reduce  costs  and  improve  services
