next day). Because the runway at Cosford is only 3000 feet long, they had to use their drag chute very early. But one of the Jag's used his too early... The pilot kept his Jag under control but had a hard landing...

Seen here with 55 Sqdn, seven years later this Victor was to play a crucial role with 57 Sqdn in the first 'Black Buck' raid on the Falklands by Vulcan XM607, under the command of Sqdn Ldr Bob 'Tux' Tuxford who gained the AFC for his heroics. Full story in the book 'Vulcan 607'.

pair of 2,000-lb GBU-15(V)1(T-1)/B guided bombs with an AN/AXQ-14 data link pod on the aft centerline station and a shallow AN/ALQ-131 ECM pod on its Pave Tack cradle.
