Coming Soon to Your Ballot Box

WHAT: This November, New Jersey voters will have a chance to support their public libraries. The NJ Construction Bond Act would authorize the State to issue bonds to create funding for public libraries to use on construction and renovation projects.

HOW: There is a statewide referendum question on the November 7th ballot that gives voters a chance to decide.

WHY: Construction funding for New Jersey public libraries could provide

Infrastructure repairs, including ADA compliance

Updated community spaces for meetings, programming, and learning opportunities

Repairs and renovations including carpeting, roofing, HVAC systems, parking lots or bathrooms

Job creation for tradespeople and revenue for small businesses

WHO: Registered New Jersey voters get to decide spending priorities.

WHEN: November 7, 2017 - the voters get to decide whether the State should commit to this funding. The bonds are repaid out of state revenues and are not paid through local property taxes.

hundreds of people flocked to EPL in hopes of

obtaining a pair of the elusive eclipse eyeglasses.
