    Sight-a-thon 2018 / Blindfold Walk / Eye

    Donation Awareness Walk

n All India, Revolutionary Movement for the cause of

Eyes Donation under the flagship program of CAMBA

(Cornea Andhaktv Mukt Bharath Abhiyan) in Partnership

with NPCB (National Programme for Control of Blindness, Govt. of

India). Started in the year of 2017.

    SAKSHAM Age : 10 +

    Event Locations : 100 +

    Participant Strength (All India) : 10000 +

Major Locations: Hyderabad, Bangalore, Goa, Jabalpur, Hubli, Kanpur,

    Silchar

The primary motto is to raise awareness on the problems

    faced by Visually

    Challenged persons

    and hence boost

    the Eyes Donation

    across the country.

    During the

    Sightathon events across India, normal

    of opaque cloth. The Blindfolded

participants are made to walk for a

distance of two kilometers, usually guided

    by a visually challenged person.

    What people said!

“Sightathon was an eye opening experience. Blindfold walk

made me realize the hardship, which differently abled

people go through in their day-to-day life.”

    -Gajanathan, Participant

“The walk demanded an elevated sensor activation. Placing

hands on peers shoulder and walking created a trust on the

    fellow person”

    -Mahesh, Participant

“I personally felt the intent behind the SIGHT-A-THON was met in

the phenomenal attendance of Hyderabad’s young, old and some

affluent elite (Actor & Actress as well), who made it a point to make

it to People’s Plaza (Necklace Road), in support of a cause that can

bring sight and color back to the lives of so many who can’t see or

are partially blind, It’s a way to bring awareness of donating, and

making a difference in many lives. It’s a chance to truly live twice or

    -Preetam Srinivasan, Volunteer, NTT Data

“Excessive exposure to mobiles, computers, and televisions”

“About 90 % of the world's visually impaired people live in developing countries”

“Cataracts are the leading cause of blindness & causes for visual impairment are refractive

    errors glaucoma”

“Eat Healthy, Quit Smoking, Frequent averts from Computer Screen”
