THE NEW 4-H YEAR HAS BEGUN! HAVE YOU?
IT IS TIME TO RE-ENROLL
RETURNING FAMILIES – To begin the process, you will need to visit http://
iowa.4honline.com. This will be the 4th year you will be allowed access to your own rec-
ords. This means that you do not need to create a new profile. Your family already
has a record, and you will need to access that existing record in order to update and re-
enroll your 4-H'er for the 2014-2015 year. You might notice a change in the required
fields. Please be diligent with even the non-required fields and fill out as completely as
possible. Be sure to update the t-shirt size. Find help sheet at
www.extension.iastate.edu/4hfiles/EnrollmentDocs/MemberReEnrollment.pdf.
NEW FAMILIES – To enroll in Iowa 4-H online, you need a computer, internet access,
a valid e-mail address and a web browser. Help sheet for NEW FAMILIES enrollment
process can be found at www.extension.iastate.edu/4h/page/4honline-information-
families-and-leaders.
Please feel free to contact the office if you have any problems or questions with this re-

A big THANK YOU to Hills Bank & Trust Co for all their time spent at the fair. A member
of their staff was here daily taking pictures of members and their projects. This year
Hills Bank was kind enough to provide a website for everyone to enjoy. Please take a
look and reminisce about the fun you had. INest time you happen to see a Hills Bank
employee or stop in don’t forget to mention how much you appreciate what they do for
Johnson County 4-H’ers! http://www.hillsbank.smugmug.com/ password is Clover2014

Each leader has their own individual deadline and expectaitons, but use this tip sheet
as a guide to get you started. Forms are available on the county wepage or feel free to

Philosophy of 4-H Record Keeping
The purpose of 4-H record keeping is to teach how to keep records, which is an im-
portant life skill. Record keeping is an ongoing process that does not end when the 4-H
year ends. Youth are encouraged to select from a variety of alternatives to meet their
individual record keeping needs and learning styles. The following forms (see below)
are available in the Extension Office or online at: http://www.extension.iastate.edu/
johnson/page/johnson-county-4-h-recordkeeping-forms. The forms available through
the website are set up to be typed into and then printed for clean and legible records!
Each Record Book Should Have:
Yearly 4-H Summary
Project Records
Member Self-Evaluation.
Livestock Records
Remember to check with your leader about their dealine and requirements
