Preliminary Design of the 34 km Ermelo Ring Highway in Mpumalanga, South Africa (2015). Design Manager for design of a 6 lane highway with 3 systems interchanges and 3 access interchanges as a bypass route around the town of Ermelo. Project value R 1.1 Billion. Client SANRAL.

Preliminary Design of the 27 km Ladysmith Ring Highway in KZN, South Africa (2017). Design Manager for design of a 6 lane highway with 2 systems interchanges and 5 access interchanges as a bypass route around the town of Ladysmith. Project value R 1.0 Billion. Client SANRAL.

Detail design of the Mkuze Access Interchange in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa (2015). Design manager for the detail design of an access interchange on the N2 highway, including design of a local link road. Project value R 120m. Client SANRAL.

Transportation Options Study Minas Revuboe (2013). Design manager for the 10 km coal transportation study for the Minas Revuboe Mine at Moatize in Mozambique. Comparison was made between rail, coal trucks and conveyor belt/Ropecon transportation between the coal pit to the nearby existing Moatize to Beira railway line. Project Value USD 50m.

Detail design for the 200 rural highway in Libya from Ras Edjir to Tripoli Airport. (2008. Design manager for the detail design of the 200 km rural 4 lane highway with 12 access and 2 system interchanges from Ras Ejdir on the Tunsian border to east of Tripoli airport. He was also responsible for the route planning of the 365 km highway section Ras Ejdir – Misratah in Libya.

Preliminary and detail design of Tippler 3 rail staging lines at Saldanha-West Cape (2014). Rail Lead for design of 18 km of track works for link lines from Salkor, arrivals, departure, stacker and run-around lines for the new Tippler 3 and future Tippler 4. Project value R 540m. Client: Transnet Capital Works.

Design review of 15 km BRT bus lanes detail design and construction supervision from Soweto – Johannesburg (2013). Infrastructure planner for 15 km BRT route details design responsible for road markings, intersection designs, bus lanes, feeder roads, cost estimates, tender documentation, tender analyses and construction supervision. Project value R43m. Client Johannesburg Development Authority (JDA).

Geometric design for alternative rail route options for new coal export rail lines from Tete in Mozambique to different port locations. Mozambique (2011). Design specialist responsible for horizontal and vertical alignments including cost estimates for multiple rail route alternatives. Study included rail routes varying in length from 500 km to 1 200 km. All rail options were subjected to an evaluation process taking into account route length, cost, constructability, environmental and socio-economic impacts, port suitability and any pertinent regulatory and political impacts. Project value varies from USD 1 140 m to USD 3 435m. Client Riversdale/Rio Tinto.

Preliminary design of two urban interchanges in Benghazi, Libya. (2009). Design manager for the conceptual design including horizontal and vertical alignment and typical cross sections for the two urban interchanges on the Fourth Ring Road. The one being a narrow diamond and the other a full cloverleaf design with a directional ramp.Project value USD 50 m. Client Benghazi Municipality.

Design manager for the preliminary geometric design and drainage for the new 15 km Northern Connector highway with double railway track in median in Adelaide, South Australia (2008/2009). Design specialist responsible for design management, geometric and drainage design for 2 systems and 3 access interchanges including a double track railway line in the highway median. Project value USD 1.39 Billion. Client Dept Energy, Transportation and Infrastructure (DTEI).

Project Management Functions on the Preliminary Design of DP 1 (Alignment), DP 6 (15 km dolomitic section), and DP 8 (7 above ground stations) of the 80 km Gautrain High Speed Rail system between Pretoria and Johannesburg. (South Africa) 2005/2006. Specialist Railway Engineer. Responsible for interaction between client and consultants. Attendance of liaison and planning meetings, minutes and report writing. Development of Water Management Plan for 15 km Dolomitic section. Project value R 20,0b. Involved for 6 person-months.
