Virginia Street Project Overview

1.8 mile extension of existing BRT

service to the UNR campus

Eight New Stations with level boarding

and real-time arrival information

Roadway and sidewalk improvements

with better ADA access

Primarily federal funded

Opening planned for January 2021

Current: RAPID Virginia Line

Currently ends at 4TH STREET

STATION at north end

Currently ends at Meadowood Mall to the

south

Frequency currently is every 10 minutes weekdays

12 minutes weekends

Extended: RAPID Virginia Line

Extension would end at Lawlor Events

Center at north end (new layover point)

Continue to end at Meadowood Mall to

the south (remains a layover point)

Frequency will remain at:

10 Minutes weekdays

12 minutes weekends

4TH STREET STATION will become a

typical stop, no layover or dwell

Discontinue Temporary UNR-Midtown Direct Route

UNR-Midtown Direct service was

established to help service in and out of

Midtown and connect with UNR

This service was scheduled to end at the

beginning of the Virginia Line – RAPID

service extension to UNR

Frequency was every 30 minutes on

weekday and weekends
