The library is very proud to announce The Reading Games! This new Hunger Games inspired spin on our reading program was started by some  very creative students. As of September 28th, we have 21 teachers (member of the Capitol) and 71 students (members of one of seven districts) playing the game. Stay tuned for announcements about prizes given to top readers (both district and individual) as well as random challenges. A Total Of -> 117 classes for instruction and 42 using space Instruction Since August 25th, we … - conducted orientation using Kahoot and scavenger hunts - taught note taking strategies - assisted classes in choosing books - taught classes how to use DISCUS (social studies, sociology, Chinese, English) -  worked with classes on digital citizenship - made bracelets and sand art Banned Books Week Banned Books Week takes place from September 28th - October 2nd. Of course, the Loquacious Library usually celebrates it for more than a week. Come check out a Banned Book (shelf  below the tv in the middle of the library) and see the AWESOME posters Maria Rosario, Tyra Brown, and Mazzie Phinizy created.  Want a special Banned Books talk from one of the librarians? Just send us an email or give us a call! Welcome Mr. Means The Loquacious Library extends a  big welcome to Mr. Means, our new assistant. Mr. Means graduated from USC Union (Go Gamecocks!) where he worked as an assistant in the library there. He also  works part-time for Able South Carolina (http://www.able-sc.org ) where he is a  young adult leader. Derrick enjoys playing bongos at his church and is a  band member of Highway 49.
