What’s Happening Exalted Ruler Message
Members all,
I hope everyone has had a GREAT summer. August was certainly a busy month for the Lodge with its two biggest events.
First, the Oyster Festival, a little shy of last year, but a very nice return from all the efforts of the volunteers. A big tip of the antlers to our Co-chairs Lisa Murray and Rob Muoio, they did an outstanding job! I don’t care if you only could spend a few hours or many hours everyone’s effort is always appreciated and needed. Wednesday night prep, Thursday night prep, Friday set up, Saturday festival, break down and Sunday morning clean up and put away, EVERY ONES help make it all come together and it wouldn’t have happened without a bunch of GREAT Elks who share and care about their Lodge. I would be amiss to not thank all the non-elks who helped, spouses, friends and children, you all did a great job. Kathy and Greg you can’t imagine how great it was for you to loan us your golf cart.
Last, we had the Wojo Golf Tournament, a special thanks to Pat Langan and his committee for another great year. Volunteers again make this all happen. Almost forgot we also had our Soccer Shoot, again Dave Williams did another great job organizing this event for the kids and our lodge. If you have not volunteered for this event, it is a lot of fun with kids, volunteer next year and have some fun.
September we will have our District Deputy Audit and we are back to two meeting a month, Tuesday September 6th, Tuesday September 20th which will also be our District Deputy visit and initiation of new members. Please support your Lodge and attend our Monthly meeting.
There is also an effort in play to have an event for our own member Terry Byrnes in October, please make an effort to come out and support him, he will really appreciate everyone’s support. Terry had a small set back recently but he is coming back strong. For those of you who don’t know Terry, he was severely injured in a motorcycle accident about 10 months ago.
As always I ‘am available for any one, who needs a hand or help with an issue. Fraternally yours, Jeff Hall 203-414-4572, [email protected]

Trustee News - Lodge Renovations
An architectural drawing of our proposed Lodge renovations is on display in the Lounge. Please come down and review them. We welcome your comments and will try to address every one of them as best we can within cost constraints and the physical confinements of the building.
We are anxious to move forward with the renovations as quickly as possible as there is much to do, so the time allotted to provide comments will end after the second Lodge meeting in January.
ELK OF THE MONTHMy Elk of the Month is Roberta Gogliettino, I don’t know where she gets all the energy but it seems to be endless, the organizing of the upstairs storerooms, the hallway and the kitchen all have her mark, and then to organize Friday food buffet for the volunteers, thanks Roberta, I hope you know how much I appreciate all your efforts. You truly are a great Elk.
