Played with the same rules as ice curling, floor curling uses wooden rocks and
shuffleboard wax on a hard floor.
Don’t be intimidated, this low impact activity can be done from standing or sit-

Put your fun and competitive hat on and throw some rocks, have some coffee and
enjoy a nice time with friends.

Good Food Box
Did you know Nifty 50s is a depot for the Good Food Box? The Good
Food Box makes top-quality, fresh food available, fosters community
development and promotes healthy eating. You preorder a box of food
in one of three sizes, Small (20-25lbs ) $25, medium (30-35lbs), $30,
or large (40-45lbs), $35, and once a month it is delivered to our facili-
ty. The produce in the box varies from month to month but generally
contains apples or pears, a squash or melon, potatoes and other root
vegetables. It is a cost effective way to get fruits and vegetables and can
be shared, if it sounds like too much. Contact the office to order yours
or find a potential partner to split one with, at 403 283-0620.

Nifty Fifties Garden
This summer the club is implementing a small garden in front of the
building, as well as we have a plot in the community garden. Our box
number is #33 and we share it with all members of Nifty Fifties. We
encourage you to help with weeding and watering and in turn offer
you the vegetables that spring up! This garden will contain a range of
vegetables and flowers that will be available for members to pick at no
cost. Nifty Fifties is excited to provide fresh vegetables to its loyal
members; a small way for us to say thank you for the
continuous support and involvement with Nifty Fifties.

Portraiture 101
There is nothing more challenging and fascinating in art than drawing a human face. It presents a double problem for the artist: rendering the exterior and capturing personality.
However challenging that might be, it is more simple if you KNOW HOW. Step-by-step instructions will teach you the basics of portrait drawing and painting and get
the mystery out of if. Any medium welcome!
September 13th
Water Media
Join me for a day of playing with watercolours, inks and other water based mediums. Recon-nect with your playful essence and discover easy going loosy- goosey washes, beautiful callig-
raphy marks and happy accidents!
We'll explore various techniques on w/c paper, rice paper, canvas and other unconventional surfaces. No previous experience needed.
