Prescott Valley is growing and to make sure the new residents are connected with the services they may need the Chamber has developed the “Welcome Home” program. Patterned after the Welcome Wagon of the past, the Chamber will give bags with items, coupons and other swag from our businesses to peo-ple moving into Prescott Valley. Also included in the woven reusable bags will be the official Cham-ber Community Directory, map and a welcome gift.

This program is open only to Chamber members and it’s recommended that items include something that will get them into your business or use your ser-vice such as a coupon or other call to action item.

To participate or for more information on this pro-gram contact Gloria at the Chamber. 772-8857.

What’s Happening at the Chamber?

The exciting news is that after six years the Chamber is adding new space! Due to NFP Insurance vacating an adjacent suite the Chamber had the oppor-tunity to acquire an additional 900 square feet. After a serious review by the board of directors it was determined that if the Chamber was to grow, expand

and add additional services more space was needed. Currently the rooms are being renovated and will include a larger

boardroom/educational area, a business resource center and two ad-ditional offices.

Anticipated occupancy is the middle of September at which time a ribbon cutting and open house will be held.

Members of the board had a great time breaking through the wall to connect the two office spaces.

It is a pretty crazy time around here. Holiday planning has be-gun!

For many it seems to soon but when events are one right after the other careful planning must be done so there are no surprises.

We are helping out at the PV Balloon Fest on Sept. 21. This event hosted by the Ro-tary benefits Yavapai Big Brothers and Big Sisters in the Prescott Valley area. last year was great fun and we are looking forward to another great time this year.

October will be our first Jack-O’Lantern carving contest. Businesses are encouraged to carve a Jack-O’lantern and submit it to us via social media. Our judging commit-tee will then visit the top 5 selected businesses for a first hand look. Awards for first, second and third place will be given, Contact Brady for more information or follow our Facebook page.

More dates to remember October 31 - Safe Trick or Treat at the Findlay Toyota Center, November 25 - Flying High Turkey Drive, November 28 - Valley of lights opens, De-cember 3 - Holiday Stroll through Valley of lights and December 6 - Holiday Festival of lights and Parade.

We are so excited for our new office space and look for-ward to hosting our open house. Exact date is still to be determined but invites and notices will be sent out.

I hope you attend the Patriot Week and Healing Fields events and programs. So proud of our town that we con-tinue this tradition to honor and remember those we lost on September 11, 2001.

Have a great month. But let’s have a little more rain. Monsoons have seemed to take a leave of absence this year.
