RECYCLING RATE INCREASE

Recycling rates charged on the bi-monthly utility bills

have increased effective July 1, 2020. You will notice this

increase on the July-August, 2020 billing which will be

mailed out on September 1, 2020. The rates are

increasing from $5.00 per month ($10.00 on the bi-

monthly bill) to $6.00 per month ($12.00 on the bi-

monthly bill). This is due to the increased costs for the

pickup and delivery of the recyclables from town to the

recycling facility and administrative costs.

Thank you for recycling and for doing your part to divert

waste from the landfill!

COMPOST PICKUP

The town is looking at contracting with Triways Disposal

Services for bi-weekly compost pickup with the green bins

for town residents. It will start with just yard composting

which includes grass clippings, leaves and garden

debris. Household mixture composting will not be included

at the start but will possibly be added later. Composting

pickup will run from April to October. The composting will

go out to Kelly Dearborn’s compost pile. It will not be going

to the town landfill.

The town council is still in discussion with Triways as to what

the costs will be. The cost will depend on how many people

are interested in a compost bin. We will need approximately

80% of the town residents to make the program work.

The town council is looking for resident’s input. Would you

be interested in compost pickup starting in April, 2021? If

you have any questions, concerns, or feedback please

contact the town office at

306-967-2251, email [email protected] or contact a

council member.

Every bit composted will keep waste and plastic bags out of

our landfill!

Eatonia Oasis Living August 2020

Hello everyone! We continue to do well at EOL. The residents have been enjoying visits outside with family and

friends! Reminder that appointments must be made ahead of time to arrange a visit! We thank everyone for their

part in keeping our residents and staff safe!

We currently have 16 residents at EOL. Our condolences go out the family of Margaret McConnell, who passed

away at the age of 102. We will all miss her. We also bid farewell to Yvonne Smith, who has moved to the

Heritage Manor in Kindersley; and to Lorraine Goldade who has moved to the Western Senior Citizen’s Home in

Leader. We hope you both have settled into your new homes.

We have enjoyed a few craft sessions, exercises and sing songs at EOL! We even held a Happy Hour one evening!

Thank you so much to the staff who are going above and beyond planning these activities!

Check out our facebook page for pictures!
