Crime statistics recently released by thepolice show that there were 49 violent crimesin the Crofton Park area in June, yet Labourare saying they are proud of their record on
crime locally!Tam Langley and the local Lib Dem teamhave launched a campaign to cut crimelocally by organising more NeighbourhoodWatch schemes and helping the policeidentify crime and anti social behaviourhotspots.
If you know of a crime or antisocial behaviour hotspot then
you can email [email protected]
Tam says: While it is important we dontgive in to fear of crime, there is a realproblem here that needs attention. Wehave an excellent Safer Neighbourhoodsteam of seven Police and CommunitySupport Ofcers who have been workingwith 14 streets in Crofton Park to set upNeighbourhood Watch schemes. These areproven to cut crime and many streets do
not yet have one. If you wouldlike to set one up please emailme.

Labour admit they dontstand for the underdogLewisham Labours candidate forTelegraph Hill ward has made anoutspoken attack on his own party.
Writing on his blog, he said, TheLabour Party no longe r represents thevoice of the weak, the powerless andthe poor in the minds of voters ... Iam very perplexed by the people wehave leading the Labour Party at themoment. They seem to be sailing usinto iceberg, to election defeat, to theend of a Labour government.
Lewisham Deptford Labour councillorEdward Mark has still not respondedto criticism from his constituentsafter taking 30k in allowances forattending just 3 committee meetings.
Tam and the team are demanding that the council cleansup derelict houses and grot spots around our area. These
problems, and our progress in solving them, from anabandoned house on Manwood road to dumped rubbishin Honor Oak Park, can be found on a map at: http://bit.ly/ 3MVeEE
We say the councilshould take a leadfrom residents of Honor Oak Park and StansteadRoad whohave planted acommunity gardenand cleared up thearea themselves.
