It was only a few months ago that the World Cup finished, with disappointment forthe England team and their fans.What went wrong? Plenty of people have criticized FabioCapello and his selection of the players. Were you one of the critics? Do you think that you canselect the best team from an available pool of players? You will soon have the opportunity toshow off your skills, as a season of School Fantasy Football is about to begin at Rainford.

What is School Fantasy Football? You will have a multimillion-pound budget to select andmanage a team of Premier League footballers and compete against your fellow pupils andteachers for real trophies, medals and certificates. Follow your team’s progress over the nine-month season in your overall school league, against your closest rivals in your year group andyour friends in your own mini-league. You don’t need to know lots about football and we wanteveryone to join in – boys and girls. Brothers, sisters and parents are all very welcome to joinand test their skills. The program runs from October to May and there are prizes to be wonthroughout the season. Log on to to find out more.

There is a one-off cost per entry of £3.50 (cheques payable to RHTC) for the whole season. Watch out for posters around school for details. Pre-season practice is available to you as soon as you register – so don’t delay!
