In July the non-profit GreenWheaton and the Chamberheld a “Green Drinks” happy hour at the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton to celebrate GreenWheaton’s new non-profitstatus during the second annual event.

The event drew over 25 people from the business communityand people concerned with environmental practices and sustainability. Wendy Howard of WH Consulting organized the event and acted as hostess.

Good food and drinks provided by the Pub produced awonderfulatmosphere,while prizeswere givenaway, withchances to win a complimentarytour and tasting foreight and a bottle of wine at the Sugarloaf MountainVineyard www.smvwinery.com.

GreenWheaton, Inc. is a non-profit dedicated to engagingthe community in education and outreach that promotesWheaton, Maryland as a model sustainable community.GreenWheaton has contributed to the greater Wheaton-Kensington area by highlighting the need to include environmental sustainability recommendations in the Draft Wheaton Sector Plan as well as other developmentproposals.
