Other polycyclic compoundsQ 1150 Sequential Diels—Alder and Cobalt Octacarbonyl Catalyzed Pauson—Khand
Reactions in the Formation of Polycyclic Enones. — Monocyclic dienynes pro-duced as major products by intermolecular Diels—Alder reaction of dienyne (I) with dipolarophiles undergo subsequent cobalt octacarbonyl catalyzed Pauson—Khand re-action. For substrate (VIb) bearing a terminal alkyne, only low yield of desired product is obtained. Formation of tetracycle (Va) can also be achieved in a one-pot manner with-out isolation of the intermediate monocyclic dienyne. — (CHOI, S. Y.; LEE, S. I.; PARK, K. H.; CHUNG*, Y.
