The World Renewal

The world is heading towards a Catastrophe. Thereligious preachers and believers have done more harmto the cause of religion than its opponents. Blind faith,

meaningless and tiresome rituals, needless physical austerities, dryness and dogmatism, unbridgeable gulf between religiouspreachers on such vital topics as God, their rigidity of views, narrowness of outlook and intolerance are some factors, whichare responsible for repulsion in the minds of the people towardsreligion. Religion has become uninspiring because of thesefactors and the result today is that though there is no dearth oftemples, mosques, synagogues, monasteries and churches inthe East as well as in the West, the number of persons visitingthese places has considerably dwindled. Moreover, the actionsof those few, who visit the places of worship today, do notmatch with the religious teachings they get. So, religion hasbeen losing its appeal very fast.

The avowed aim of religion was to establish a link betweensoul and God and to foster the feeling of brotherhood betweenmen and to guide people to have peace for themselves and forthe society, but religion has not fulfilled this sacred promise. Ithas come into observation of the common man that most religiouspreachers do not have any reliable experience about God, noris there any unanimity among them even on fundamentalsubjects such as soul. They can neither explain religious truthslogically nor inspire others from their own practical example.Religion, instead of functioning as a uniting force, has got itselfsplit up into uncountable cults and sects and given rise to conflictand even bloodshed in its name. All this has naturally led peopleto disenchantment with religion and disillusionment withspirituality. If spirituality loses its influence on the minds of thescientists, politicians and men in general, as it is being witnessedthese days, then the world will soon face an unprecedentedcatastrophe. Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya VishwaVidyalaya (PBKIVV) is inspiring the masses and theintellectuals towards a universal, logical and practical spirituality

MYTHOLOGICALMOTHER DURGA

During the Festival of Navratri,Mother Goddess is worshipped indifferent forms which include that

of Mother Saraswati, the Goddess ofWisdom, Purity and Virtues. Similarly on theeighth day, Ashtami, Goddess Durga isworshipped for valour and victory over evil. This we know and sing praise of through themythological stories of India, and wecontinue to adore our Goddesses byworshipping them every year during the ninenights of Navratri.

A very interesting story is being sharedthrough these columns with our belovedReaders so that you may exalt the purity, beauty and magical powers of the MotherGoddess, whenever that divine powerdescends to give blessings to the believersand devout. This enchanting fable waspublished in Times of India on Durga Ashtamithis year, which we are presenting word forword for the benefit of our Readers:A bangle-seller, old and greyTo a village small, did find his way.He was thin, his face was lined. The basket on his head was piledWith glass bangles of all hues and size. And as he walked he softly sang“O Mother, show yourself to me but onceBefore I go into the eternal night.”

As he looked around he saw

EditorialA little girl, of seven or eight, no more.In a red, gold-bordered sari she was cladAnd a crimson rose adorned her braid. She sat on the steps beside the pondHer lovely face was lost in thoughtShe seemed not to see him at all.His heart was move and he called to her.“My child, do come and some bangleschoose.”“Dear Sir,” she softly replied,“I did not come, as I cannot buy.”His heart was filled with love, and he said“Come, take your choice, not count the cost.I only wish to adorn your armsWith these coloured bangles and beadedcharms.”She ran to him, and looked amongst his waresAnd one by one, he put on her wrist,The best he had, emerald, ruby, gold andamethystAnd when her arms could hold no moreShe got up and said to him,“Dear Sir, you are so very kind,May you be happy all your life.”

“What is your name, and where do you stay?”“My name is Durga and I live,In the temple by the hill. The priest who lives there surely willFor these bangles pay the bill.In the western corner of the shrineA plate of straw with coins you’ll findEnough for what I have bought.”

Saying this she laughed and sang, and wasso gayShe quite stole his heart away,

Year after year for centuries, the peopleof Bharat have kept the story ofRamayana alive through theatrical

performances by village folk, as well as themedium of Indian Cinema. This seems to bethe best way to rekindle the light of love forthe Supreme Being and His divine creationof Golden Age (Satyuga) and Silver Age(Tretayuga). To be exact, this is the ensuingkingdom of heaven on earth where the Rulersand the Ruled are all Deities: elevated humanbeings. How we wish the revelations unveiledby the Knower of the entire World Drama:Supreme Father, God Shiva could reach allSeekers of Truth at the earliest…

God is known as Truth as well as theOcean of Love, Peace, Purity, Virtues andespecially remembered as Bestower of theKingdom of Heaven. But this spiritual

And then she merrily danced awayTo the mango grove thatBehind them stretched.

The old man slowly got to his feetAnd to the temple found his way. There in answer to his callThe priest came swiftly to the temple door.“Why do you disturb me at this worshiptime?”“Dear Sir, I have come here to seekMoney for the bangles your daughterbought from me.”The priest in anger replied,

“I have lived alone here all my lifeI have no daughter, wife or child.”They went to the western corner of theshrine,And as she’d said,There was a plate of straw with coins inside. The sum exactly the priceFor the bangles that she’d lovingly bought.

inheritance is only received once Lord Ramahas conquered the negative forces of Ravana,Meghnath, and Kumbakarna, which aregraphic but symbolic representations of thepresent day negativities of lust, ego, anger, greed and illusionary attachment. Let’s askourselves a question: How far have wesucceeded in conquering these weaknessesor evil sanskars from within?

After watching the play of Ramayanamany times in a lifetime, renowned writersand philosophers, who wrote master pieceslike Mahabharat and Ramayana, must havewished that the followers or devotees whoread or listen to these epic fables would tryto inculcate those virtues hailed in ShriKrishna and Shri Rama. But let’s be honestwith ourselves and our families andcommunities, and accept that just the

Page 6: SERVED ITS PURPOSE - bkdrluhar.com

The World Renewal6 October, 2017opposite is happening today. It is pitiful toread the conceptualization of our world bysome Scholars and Writers through theirstories and poetry: In one such text, the Poetmentions blatantly that Ravana is ruling everyhousehold, while Rama seems to havedisappeared into exile… The true seekers ofspiritual awakening and truth are requestedto start listening to your own conscience, andvisualise yourself in the roles of divine beingslike Shri Krishna and Shri Rama. It is not adream or an illusion or trying to deceiveoneself to be something we are not, buta conscious decision to live by high valuesand principles in life and follow thefootsteps of our Ancestor Souls, theDeities. Mere worship of these ElevatedBeings helps us temporarily to becomepositive, pious, peaceful and happy. However by following a consistent dailyroutine of self-introspection, listening tothe inspirational words of God, andreligiously following the best practices,we can lead good or godly lifestyles:

Through early morning meditationsessions, we start experiencing nearness toGod, and receive His blessings too. Bylistening to the spiritual lessons from the Jewelamongst all Scriptures, ‘the Real Gita’, westart performing righteous actions (ShreshtKarma) and help ourselves and others in re-establishing a much needed heart-to-heartrelationship or connection with the Ocean ofLove, Peace, Purity and Power. All thisempowers us to conquer the symbolicrepresentations of negativity: Kumbakarna,Meghnath and finally Ravana. What a pity

that we excitedly create effigies of thesedemonic characters every year but hardlythink about permanent eradication of theseevils from our lives and societies! Once weare determined to start living as worthychildren of God, we would be dancing in thecompany of the eternal gods and goddessesin the new, perfect world! Everyone, allover the world, has the right to find Godand receive Godly blessings andinheritance of being golden-aged deities, that is, beings who live with purity, peace, happiness and prosperity.

We are sharing herewith some Godlyversions for empowerment of the spiritualpsyche so we can uphold the dignity of allfemales and males. May the spiritualenlightenment based on God’s Revelationsreach every home and heart for developinga clear, spiritual consciousness and divineattitude in interpersonal relations!

These divine thoughts also express ourgreetings with each of our special Readersfor a very, very enlightened Happy Diwali andhealthy and prosperous New Year!

“The Supreme Father is giving patienceto the children. Which children? Thosewho are worshippers of the deities. Theybelieve that their special, beloved godsand goddesses were greatdeit ies. Christ ians worship Christ .Buddhists worship Buddha. Jains worshipMahavir. They all worship or rememberthe head of their own religion. Therefore,God says to the worshippers of the deities:Have patience! Heaven is now beingestablished. It has now been 5000 years

“Everyone in the world is in darkness, they are completely without an intellect.Explain to them that one is your worldlyfather and the other is the Father frombeyond this world. He is the Creator ofthe new world. A father builds a newhome. The unlimited Father is creating anew world.

“This is the ancient, easy Raja Yoga andeasy knowledge of Bharat. The deityreligion is now old and people haveforgotten who established the deityreligion. God has explained that you arethe Brahmins who belong to theConfluence Age. Those brahmins of theiron age also say that they belong to thedynasty of Prajapita Brahma, but theydon’t know when Brahma came.

“You mothers are called the mothers ofBharat who are incarnations of Shakti(power). Shiv Baba has taken anincarnation at the confluence age. He hasmade you His children. You children knowthat the Supreme Father, the SupremeSoul, who is the Father of all souls, is theMaster of Brahmand. He is theCreator and so He should be the Masterof Creation , but Baba says: I don’tbecome the Master of the heaven that Iestablish. I make you children the masters.Everyone in the world says that God isthe Master of the World. However, He isjust the Master to create it; He makes youinto the masters of heaven. It is theFather’s duty to make the children higher

than Himself. The Father is the Servant. He gives everything to you children andthen departs.

“To claim the kingdom of the world andthen to lose it is a play for the people ofBharat. The people of Bharat were themasters of the world, whereas today theyhave become bankrupt. There isn’t even akingdom of impure kings anymore; it isnow the rule of the people.

“The Almighty Authority Father isestablishing the deity religion. He gives usso much might that we become themasters of the world. There areinnumerable religions in Bharat. Therewas just one religion in the golden age.The Father says: I am once again givingyou the knowledge of the Gita. You willcontinue to drink the nectar of knowledgefor as long as you live.

“The highest business is that ofjewellery. Even higher than that is thisbusiness of the imperishable jewels ofknowledge.

“Manmanabhav! By remembering Me,you will come to Me. Now, let’s go back!Baba is the spiritual Guide. He takes youto the spiritual land. This is why you nowhave to remember the Father so that yourfinal thoughts will lead you to yourdestination.

“The Father says: Sweetest children, imbibe these jewels of knowledge in yourintellects. Go and do service! This is calledmaking effort. Don’t be afraid! Be brave.”

Look at the whole creationand then look at thegreatness of the Creator.

When you say the world‘Creator’, your mind goes upbeyond. When you say the word‘creation’, you check: where amI sitting now? In the world ofAngels, we too are angels.‘Angels’ means those, who arebeyond the things that arehappening down below in thismaterial earthly world. This is nota class, it is an exchange ofexperiences. It is very good thateveryone has Baba in his/hervision. Baba says, “Just sit here,I will do my work”. Baba getsHis own work done. He is veryclever at doing His work frombehind and from front.

Check your stage when youcame into this hall and then whenyou get up from here. It seemsthat everyone is sitting heretension-free. It is said thateveryone has his/her own uniquesanskars. Even those, who livetogether, will have their ownsanskars. When the mind andintellect come together, the mind

becomes peaceful and theintellect becomes still. This ishow sanskars are created.

Today, I have the feeling ofsitting in the Meditation hall ofMadhuban. It feels like Baba isobserving everyone from above.Do you have this deep sense(bhasna)? (Someone presentedDadi with beautiful bouquet offlowers.). In the Golden Age, wewon’t give flowers to oneanother.

Some one asked the question:Baba is saying nowadays in themurlis that time is running fastand so our effort has to moveaccordingly. On the other side, you say: ‘Have patience, as youmake effort’. Do not wait fortime, but time is speeding up. So,how can we keep up our speedand, at the same time, bepatient? Dadi answered thequestion as follows:

Patience has to do with ournature. Previously, we had thehabit of hurrying, whilst movingand sitting. Let it be as if our feetare not hitting the ground, butthat we are light. It is as if Baba

is pulling you and you are takingstrength from God. Those whoconsider Baba to be their child, have the feeling that Baba’spower is making me move andothers move. Even though thefive fingers are not equal to eachother, they are on the samehand.

We are going towards thesubtle angelic region. Someoneis pulling me with the thread oflove. We are not doing anything. This is called patience. Thismeans that there is not even theslightest rushing around withimpatience, but you are movingwith love. Keep your visionstable; do not be distracted byanything. Have these deeploving feelings and this deepsense (bhasna) and whereveryou go, carry this sense with you.Become the image of patiencethereby.

Let everything happennaturally, no need to rush. Therewon’t be any images in the

MAKE VALUEADDITION FOR A LIFE

OF FULFILMENT

Make knowledge and yoga a part of your life to transform the old nature.

We all know that lifehas a lot of spiritualenergy. This energy

is a conglomeration of manyvirtues, values, powers andgoodness. Life is beautiful andpleasant. It has joy andenthusiasm. It has hope, aspirations, expectations, desires, optimism and highergoals. There is no end to allthese. Life keeps on scalinggreat heights. We are allengulfed in the unseen flow ofenergy as we enjoy, rejoice andcelebrate life. In this context, let us try to peep into the variouspossibilities and avenues formaking value addition to createa life of purpose and fulfilment.

Knowledge: God, theSupreme, is the Ocean ofKnowledge. When Hecomes, He unfolds the subtleaspects of divine knowledgebefore us such as theknowledge of the self, theSupreme, cycle of time, andmore importantly about thephilosophy of karma, itsvarious facets andconsequences and the unique

knowledge of spiritual effortsfor transformation of hell intoheaven. Even though we havebeen amassing the wealth ofknowledge, there is a lot ofgap between our present stateof being and the state ofperfection that we have toachieve.Virtues: The spiritualknowledge that we study andcontemplate upon ismanifested in our life asvirtues. When we apply theknowledge in day-to-day life, our core virtues of knowledge, purity, peace, love, happiness, bliss and power will manifestin the form of differentvalues. For example, thevirtue of love manifests in theform of regard and respect, share and care, sacrifice andservice, compassion, empathyand so on.Powers: The innateattributes or characteristics ofthe soul (peace, love, truth, purity and happiness) give thesoul its power. A person, whoupholds and practices valuesin life, is a powerful person

as he needs not ask forrespect, because hecommands respect. We needto use the faculties of the soul, mind and intellect to connectwith the Supreme Source, theAlmighty; so, this taking in ofpower or absorption ofspiritual strength over a periodof time, naturally, fills the soulwith the eight powers such as- the power to tolerate, powerto accommodate, power toface, power to pack up, powerto discern, power to judge, power to withdraw and powerto co-operate. These powersare packed with virtues andvalues.Body: Body is a temple. I,the soul, am the presidingdeity of this temple. The bodyis my residence. The templeor residence should be keptclean and tidy. We should seethat our food is sattvic – purefood. The food providesstrength to the body and alsoacts as medicine for it. Wemust maintain sound healthand practise healthy habits.Wealth: Material wealth isalso necessary for a happylife. But, we should earnmoney and material wealththrough honest, sincere andhard work. There should bededication and commitment inour efforts. Our effortsshould also become a means

– B.K. Surendran, Benguluru

for the wellbeing of othersalso. Our attempt to earnmoney should not, in any way, deprive others of theirhappiness. Our earningsshould justify our means and, then, only that wealth willincrease our happiness andwellbeing.

Time: Time is money, timeis wealth. This is the mostvaluable resource, which cannotbe stored or preserved. It isrightly said, “Time and tide waitfor none.” Time travels with thethoughts. As the thoughts areproperly applied and utilized, thetime too should be usedpurposefully. When thoughts arewasted time is also wasted,.Everyone in this world is blessedwith 24 hours in a day. Duringthis time, some people scalegreat heights and some othersslip down to dismal conditionsbased on the way they managetheir time. Let us keep ourselvesbusy in constructive and creativework with systematic planningand goal setting. Every secondof time should be purposefullyused or invested for our ownbenefits or the benefits of othersand the overall wellbeing of theworld.

Thoughts: Thoughts are thebricks with which the edificeof life is built. Thoughts lead, guide and regulate our life.

Thoughts are the makers andshakers of life. Thoughts areenergy units, which can begiven either as an affection oras an infection to a person.Sometimes, thought-attackslead to heart attacks. Suddenemergence of arrogant, angryand toxic thoughts can lead tosuch situations. Thoughtscarry vibrations, which cancreate harmony ordisharmony. Thoughtmanagement is self-management and lifemanagement. To make value addition, we

must constantly strive to elevatethe quality of our thoughts inorder to live a life of excellence.

Words: Words have lifeenergy. A word can make aperson happy or unhappy. The emotions of love, affinity, support, compassion, kindness, persuasion, respect, regard, etc. are carried to othersthrough words. Words are themeans of communication. Wecommunicate desires, wants, expectations, demands, directions, orders, instructionsand guidance through words. So, our words should be polite, simple, courteous, civil, peaceful and sweet. Weshould speak less but softlyand select appropriate wordsand foresee the consequences

of the words we speak, because a word may hurt thefeelings of others, createenemies in our life or evenpollute the atmosphere. Wecan accumulate blessings, good wishes, pure feelings, good intentions and thoughtsof others by speaking sweetwords of wisdom every day.Karma: Our life is the sumtotal of all the karma we havedone in our life time, in thepresent birth in particular andthe past births in general. Itis a law, which teaches us thatthere is no such thing as luckand that whatever happens tous today is the result of ourbenevolent or malevolentactions in the past. As yousow, so shall you reap orevery action on a spirituallevel causes a similarreaction or life situation tocome back to us. A positiveaction brings a positive lifesituation back to us and anegative action brings anegative life situation back tous. Our Karma decides thequality of our life. If we areinfluenced by the core virtuesof the self, we are able to doelevated karma. Suchkarma is going to give ushappiness and peace. In caseour karma is influenced bythe vices, we would be

Be a detached observer and see every situation in life as a game of fun.

committing sins, resulting insorrow and miseries. We aregiven the power ofdiscrimination and choice. When we understand clearlythat we are the creators ofour destiny, then we make aconscious effort to see thatour karma is virtuous, elevated and based on theShreemat of the Supreme. Weshould accumulate elevatedand virtuous karma on a day-to-day basis to make valueaddition to our spiritual life.Relationship: We all areinterrelated, having familial, social or professionalbonding. Therefore, we havethe wealth of relationship. Weshould focus on what to givein relationships rather thanwhat to get. Showing careand consideration for othersencourages mutualunderstanding and support, which creates good rapportand willingness for furtherinteraction. Whether it istowards the colleagues atwork, family relatives orfriends, we should lookforward to do ourresponsibility with integrityand honesty. Let us see inwhat way we can give orserve, so that there is noconflict, tension or strugglebut just sweetness and mutualrespect in our mutual

relationships. Also we needto nurture our relationshipswith the Supreme as it isGod’s love, which will makeour relationships with othersfull of love. This is the triangleof spirituality: Take from Godand give to others and alsolove others to bring themcloser to God.Blessings: Blessings are thewings for our own progressand development. When wehelp others, serve others, careand share, and also haverespect, pure feelings andgood wishes, weautomatically earn blessings ofothers. We must payconscious attention not todisturb others, or createproblems, sorrows andobstacles in their life, whichwill deprive ourselves of theirblessings. We must help othersto live in peace andhappiness. We must count ourblessings, so that we canunderstand that we are luckysouls to have earned so muchof blessings. A word of hope,a true smile, and an act ofcharity will all earn blessings. When we live a life based onthe Shreemat of the Lord, weearn His blessings.Remembrance: Ourremembrance begins withself-awareness. Wecommence the journey of life

from the Golden Age, passingthrough the Silver, Copper andIron Ages. As we unfold the84 births, it gives therealization that the inner beingor soul, passing through thecycle of births and rebirths, becomes weaker over aperiod of time. The step toachieve inner power is bychanging our consciousnessand remembering our originalidentity. We need to createpositive affirmations and bringthem into our actions, e.g., Iam a being of light, aspiritual energy full ofpower. I radiate spiritualpower and joy to everyscene, every person andevery object. I am a soul fullof all attainments. The nextstep is to remember theSupreme Father and forge alink with Him in theincorporeal world. We needto keep in mind some form ofremembrance of God as weperform actions like gettingready in the morning, cookingfood, driving to work, takinga walk in the evening andgoing off to sleep. Thisremembrance brings peace, love and happiness back in ourlife and acts as a lifeline forself-transformation therebyleading to world-transformation.

All situations that come to fluctuate you are only a puppet show.

GET SOVEREIGNTY OF 21BIRTHS FOR PURITY OFONE BIRTH AT PRESENT

Silence power of the spirit can win where material power of science fails.

Suppose, someone wrote:“Oh! What a toilet.” Itmay mean that either

toilet is too wonderful or is tooawful. Only its context can helpus to know what was reallymeant by the person. Thisshows that knowing the contextis very important. Yet, withoutknowing backgroundinformation, many summarizeThe Bhagavad Gita as: “Youhave entitlement over actionalone, not on its results,” or as“You have a right to performyour prescribed duties, but youare not entitled to the fruits ofyour actions” (2:47) and applythis to all their activitiesparaphrasing it further as ‘Youhave right only on your action, not on its fruits.’ This obviouslyhas some problem becauseeveryone (including God)undertakes any action forcertain result. Let us see thecontext of verse 2:47 in TheGita.

The Bhagavad Gitaextensively speaks againstVedic ritualism. (2:44, 46, 49, 52,53; 3:10-18, 22, 25, 29; 7:23;11:48, 53; 16:10, 17) That meanspeople in the past were

erroneously taught that theycould get fulfilment of theirdesires through ritualisticsacrifices, which theyperformed as Vedic duties. (TheGita 4:12; 3:10-16; 9:20, 21) Itseemed people were bribing thegods for their personal benefits.Such teaching would naturallymake many feel exploited;hence, there were chances thatmany would react at some pointof time. For this, they had toundermine the validity of TheVedas and present their casethrough the mouth of anauthoritative figure. Hence, theytransposed Shri Krishna(Emperor of the whole earthduring the Golden Age) into theCopper Age and projected afictitious scene wherein Arjun isdiscouraged in the war-field andShri Krishna is trying toencourage him by reciting whatcame to be known as TheBhagavad Gita. [Suchreworking of TheMahabharata Epic waspossible in the past as it wasbeing transmitted orally. Therewas a favourable atmospherealso for this as there wereorganized attempts against the

Vedic ritualism from dominantgroups such as Nastiks, Jainism,Buddhism, etc.] In the process, they put into the mouth ofKrishna pronouncementsagainst the Vedic ritualism. It isin the midst of those anti-Vedicverses that we find the mostfamous verse of 2:47 that says“You have entitlement overaction alone, not on its results”.Hence, this verse applies onlyto ritualistic/prescribed duties, but not to all our actions.

Even the word ‘entitlement’too suggests that it does notapply to everything we do,because we perform most of theacts out of our own choice notbecause they are prescribed forus in The Vedas. When Vedicritualism advocates ‘do this ritualor that ritual and get this benefitor that benefit,’ in principle itamounts to Kamya Karma(self-gratification or attachingoneself with sense-objects) asthe way to happiness [The Gita2:43]. But, at the same time,Kamya Karma itself is shownto be the cause of grief (TheGita 2:8); hence, performanceof it will not bring happiness noralso remove grief. On thecontrary, The Gita says if onewants to “enjoy unlimitedhappiness,” he must “link withthe Supreme Soul throughmeditation, removing all vicesand taking delight in the welfareof all beings.” (The Gita 5:21,

–B.K. Rose Mary

25; 12:2-4) Thus, it is the result-oriented action that isadvocated! In other words, TheGita asks us to renounce thefruits of material Yajna/yagya[ritualistic duties] and take upJnana Yoga (KnowledgeYajna) dedicated to SupremeSoul and fruits of Yoga [linking]with Him. (The Gita 4:24, 33)Interestingly, Mahatma Gandhigot it right when he wrote: “Thewhole purpose of TheBhagavad Gita is to make thereader “a yogi” and it is given“under the guise of a physicalwar”, because one has to winthe war with inner demons whenone tries to link with theSupreme Soul. (Essence ofHinduism, p. 155, 138)

The knowledge of The Gitagiven by God Shiva in theConfluence Age explains thatwar is spiritual: “You all areArjunas and I have come intothis chariot to inspire you toconquer Maya [five vices] onthe battlefield of life” (Murli:14.6.2017). Since TheBhagavad Gita begins with thesubject of religion and ends onthe same subject of religion (2:46,52-53; 18:66), its intendedaudience are people, who areinterested in true worship [butnot Arjun because he would notbe discouraged to fight aphysical war against Kauravasas he had, in the past, single-

handedly defeated them in ViratNagar when they came to stealcows during the periodPandavas were living thereincognito]. If The Gita werereally given in a war-setting,then anti-war verses such as2:38; 6:7, 8; 14:24, 25 would nothave been part of The Gita, andGod would not have taught Arjunthat rajas guna [assigned toKshatriyas – The Gita 14:7] ishis enemy (The Gita 3:36-40)and would not have asked himto destroy it by the superiorpower of his soul. (The Gita 3:42,43).

Even if we assume that Godwas talking to Arjun in the battle-field, then telling Arjun that‘his entitlement is only on theaction of fighting, not on itsresults’ would not make anysense, because this was exactlywhat Duryodhan (villain of theEpic) had been telling Pandavasall along–even after deceitfullyimposing 14-year exile on them,he refused to give them not onlytheir rightful Kingdom, but evena “pin-pointed size of land.” Infact, acting without thinking ofits results is unwise and is againstthe very purpose of the Epicsthemselves. The Epics like TheMahabharat and TheRamayana teach us this vitallesson: ‘If you do not wanttrouble and suffering, do notbehave like people such as

Duryodhan, Ravan, etc.’ Notonly the epics, virtually all storiesand scriptures tell us: ‘If youwant beneficial results, behavelike people who acted wisely.’Interestingly, The BhagavadGita makes this conclusion: “Ihave declared wisdom moreprofound than allprofundities to you. Reflectupon it fully and act as youchoose” (The Gita 18:63), whichmeans that we are quite capableof seeing the results beforechoosing the action. ThePandavas had the results inmind when they devised waysto kill people like Drona,Bhishma, Duryodhan, etc. EvenArjun is famous for beingfocused on the result beforeperforming the action [when allothers failed Arjun alone wasdeclared the best studentbecause he said he saw only thetarget - eye of bird - beforeshooting the arrow].

The truth is that like thePandavas, everyone should aimfor the fruits of their action –removal of the wicked forcesthat rule the kingdom of mind.People undertake any actionwith some intended result in theirminds. Students undertakestudies, because they want agood career. People sufferingfrom obesity do exercise/go forwalking, because they want toburn their excessive fat.

Farmers undertake cultivation, because they wantthe results of good harvest. Doctors undertakethe treatment of their patients, because they wantto provide them cure. People change theirgovernments, because they want bettergovernance. Even when God does something,He too does it for a specific result, because Hedeclares: “When the decay of values reaches itsclimax in the end of each Kalpa (a cycle of 5000years), I have to descend to protect the righteousand to destroy the wicked, thus to re-establishdharma.” (The Bhagavat Gita 4:7, 8) Hence, the essence of The Gita is: “If you want beneficialresults, perform action accordingly.” This conceptis seen throughout The Bhagavad Gita. If youdon’t want to make your life a hell, then take theaction of renouncing “lust, anger and greed” (TheGita 16:21). If you ‘desire liberation from all yoursins and want to attain supreme peace’ thenperform the action of ‘abandoning all religionsand take refuge in God alone’ (The Gita 18:62,66). This is the sensible course of action to betaken, especially, now, because this only willqualify us for the Golden Age that is soon to bere-established by God Shiva.

Hence, God Shiva, the Sermonizer of true TheGita, summarizes His knowledge this way:“Manmanabhava, and Madhyajibhava”,which means to constantly remember Him andthe inheritance of the Golden-Aged worldsovereignty also, in order to become happy for21 births by remaining pure in this one birth(Murli: 15.06.2017). In other words: ‘If youwant to enjoy the fruits of perfect peace andprosperity for 21 births in heaven in Satyugaspread through 2500 years, then practiseRajyoga being taught by God Himself in this onebirth of Confluence Age (Sangam Yuga).’ Inshort, get sovereignty of 21 births in future forpurity one birth at present.

Quite perturbed I am because clouds ofconfusionAnd darkness are all around me:What is the mystery of God’s creation?

Tons of material gifts are ill placed;Only a few are blessed for enjoying earthlybliss.Poverty and misery make majority depressed.

Happiness is showered by You on us inabundance; But, still envy and greed make us often blindLeading us thereby towards deep ignorance.

The poor often blame the Almighty, God Father,For being quite unfair to them,And Pray for thy ameliorating GraceTo relieve them from the terrific tragedyThrough thy benevolent Blessings andPowers.

Blessed is he, who remains still and unmovedBy twin brothers of ‘misery and pleasure’,‘defeat and triumph’ In this divine creation.

O Point of Eternal Light! The Source of Knowledge, Peace and Purity!Keep my soul ever ablaze.

O Ocean of Peace and Happiness!Enchant me with divinity, inspire and guidemeTo be detached from the results of actionWhile performing selfless service.

My peaceful soul yearns for the Abode,Eternal,Where resides all souls and the SupremeSoul,O Ocean of Supreme Spiritual Knowledge !Shower on me thy Love, Eternal.

NON-VIOLENCE:KEY TO SUSTAINABLE PEACE

A contented person always says, “I have attained what I wanted.”

Peace has become themost preciouscommodity in today’s

times. Everybody is searchingfor peace but very few havemanaged to find it. What is thereason for this situation? Ispeace so sacred? Is it so difficultto comprehend? What haschanged so much that we havelost the tranquility and balanceof our life? What has obscuredour understanding of life? Whatis it that we have lost over theperiod of time that we arestruggling to find moments ofsolace and peace withinourselves, with our relations andwith the world that we live in?For decades, world leaders andwell wishers are trying to resolveconflicts, establish peace withinsocieties through various means, but what is it that is falling shortof? What are the missingingredients for a peacefulsociety? Why is it that in spiteof so many efforts and fundingfor peace keeping missions andpolicies, we still cannot establishpeace in this world?

It is often so that, sometimes,we try to find the solutions to

these issues outside of us withothers, but we never search forit inside us, and often we realizethat the solution was just therewithin us, but we never got thetime and knowledge to lookinside. The same is true forestablishing peace with the selfand with others. We need tointrospect ourselves and try tofind the solution right there!

For times immemorial, greatsaints, thinkers and seekers oftruth have preached the practiceof non-violence for a peacefulliving world. Let’s understandthis science of non violence withall its elements.

Non-violence is the value thatis guided by the principles ofspirituality, practising them andfalling in line with the law ofkarma shall help us lead to apeaceful living.

With the help of spiritualknowledge, we understand thatwe are spirits (souls) and peaceis our eternal nature. As a soul,we are sat, chit, anandswaroopam; Truth, bliss and loveare the eternal virtues of a soul. The more we are truthful andloveful, the more we are at

peace with ourselves. AsMahatma Gandhi rightlysaid: “Truth and Non-violence are inseparable andpresuppose one another,” so,non-violence is the action of theenlightened personality that hasrealized itself as soul that is “sat-chit-anand swaroopam”.

“At the centre of Nonviolence stands the principleof love,” said Martin LutherKing. The second step ofspiritual realization is that, as weare spiritual beings with divinevirtues and so is every creaturein this living world. Each livingbeing is unique in its own wayand is contributing to thesymmetric beauty of this world. At the core of every livingspiritual being is the essence oftruth, love, bliss and compassion. When we understand thisspiritual aspect of ourselves andothers, we develop respect, compassion and love for allhuman beings; and this is theurgent need of the time. It is timeto realize ourselves that we areall spiritual beings on a humanjourney. The world famousthinker, Adolfo Perez Esquivel, has rightly said: “Non-violenceis absolute respect for all humanbeings.”

When we realize ourselves asspiritual beings with innate, natural and divine virtues; ourthoughts, words and actions shallbe originating from our eternal

nature of peace, truth, love andcompassion. Through ouractions, we shall respect allliving beings, have compassionfor every living creature andunderstanding to accommodatedifferent views. We will havedeeper maturity, tolerance andpower to accommodate, to listento our fellow beings and arriveat peaceful solutions. With thisdeeper spiritual understanding, maturity and powers, it becomesour natural nature to practisenon–violence, under anycircumstances: It is rightly saidby Liu Xiaobo as follows: “Thegreatness of non-violentresistance is that even as manis faced with tyranny, and theresulting suffering, heresponds to hate with love, toprejudice with tolerance, toarrogance with humility, tohumiliation with dignity, andto violence with reason.”

Further, the genuine practiceof non–violence includes not justavoiding external physicalviolence but also internalviolence of spirit. Since we havelost the deeper spiritualunderstanding of ourselves assat, chit, anand swaroopamand have forgot our originalvirtues, have lost the clarity ofour thoughts and have startedliving with a confused identity;this has resulted in falsehood, hatred, anger and false pride and

To belong to the Supreme Father is to claim a right to your inheritance.

these have the violent nature ofthe spirit. “Anger is the enemyof non–violence and pride isthe monster that swallows it,”said M K Gandhi.

Therefore, a true seeker andpractitioner of non–violence shallrefrain from lust, anger, jealousy, hatred, falsehood and ego, which, in turn, are the inhibitorsof the values of non-violence andpeace in one’s spirit. The seekerwith deep understanding of souland its original nature shallalways try to seek truth, justice, honesty in his deeds; displaycreativity, hard labour anddedication in his works;awareness of self in histhoughts, words and actions andshall have principles ledpersonality, thus leading atruthful and just life where in liesthe secrets of happy andpeaceful living. M K Gandhi hasrightly said that the roots ofviolence lie in the lack of thesePrinciples: Wealth without work,Pleasure without conscience,Knowledge without character,Commerce without morality,Science without humanity,Worship without sacrifice,Politics without principles.”

The third step of spiritualrealization is to understand theLaw of Karma:

Actions (Karma) are theresult of a thought process thathas elements of emotions and

individual personality traits(sanskaras) to it. The sayings“As you think so shall youbecome” and “As you sow, soshall you reap” state that if youpractise violence in your karma, you shall get conflict in return;and if you practise non-violence,you shall get peaceful solutionsin return.

In today’s troubled times, when the clarity of thoughts havetaken a back seat and hatred, bigotry, falsehood and pride havetaken a front seat, a huge leapin our effort is required tounderstand the significance ofnon-violence and its effects onthe common evolution ofmankind. Today, practising non-violence is considered a floppreposition and adopting it isconsidered a weakness; but, even if you achieve your goalsby violent means, the law ofkarma will work against youand the side effects shall beeven more severe problems.Once, you understand andpractise the spiritual principlesand follow the spiritual laws, youwill reckon that practising non-violence is like healing the selfand our relationships withothers. You will realize with timethat practising non-violence andcompassion is the greatest toolin today’s turbulent times. It isrightly said by Martin LutherKing: “Non-violence is

powerful and just weapon, which cuts without woundingand ennobles a man whowields it.” His statement iscorroborated by M K Gandhi:“Non – violence is the greatestforce at the disposal ofmankind. It is mightier than themightiest weapon ofdestruction devised by theingenuity of man.” Because, the human minds are soconfused that they feel easy torespond to violence withviolence; but, they do not knowhow to respond to non-violenceand love. But, the law of karmashall ensure that if youreciprocate with love and keep

doing good, you shall reap lotsof love, peace and good relations. The law of karma ensures thatthere is no such thing asdefeat in non-violence.Understanding of this fact is thefirst step to self-transformation.

We have always believed inthe notion that self-transformation will lead toworld-transformation. We haveto become the change that wewish to see in the world. Wehave to become just, tolerant, compassionate, humble, understanding andaccommodative, and practisenon–violence, which shall thenreflect through our relationships

with the world and, in turn, shallbring peace and harmony in theworld. But, this is not a oneman’s job; rather, it is acollective effort and non-violence is the weapon of thestrong and it can be successfulwhen it gathers massmovement. That should be theultimate goal of our civilizationand only then we shall beremembered as the mostcivilized and evolved humanbeings. “Non-Violence leads tothe highest ethics, which is thegoal of all evolution. Until westop harming all living beings,we are still savages,” rightlysaid by Thomas Edison.

The World Renewal

18 October, 2017A contented person always says, “I have attained what I wanted.”

Decades after decadescome and go, but whatremain indelible are the

great acts of the socialreformers, their impressions andlarge scale impacts, influences, inspirations and effectivechanges in the people andsociety that are not at allforgettable ever.

Social Reformers andReligious Founders

India is privileged to have a goodnumber of great souls as thesocial reformers and religiousfounders, who have managed tobring revolutionary changes bymaking radical changes in thesociety. While some reformersworked for breaking the jinx ofthe prevailing caste system, dowry system and the traditionof burning of chaste widows inthe funeral pyre of theirhusbands (Satidah Pratha),some others fought for theintroduction of girls’ educationand widow remarriage, etc.Their contributions were reallyvery path-breaking anduncommon as their thoughts andactivities in socio-religiousreform uplift and regeneration

guided the Indian nation to anew and better beginning.

But, in spite of theircontributions, India, our mostbeloved country, has reached itsnadir being devoid of values andspirituality of which it was oncein their pinnacle 5,000 years ago. That is why, according to theversion in The Geeta,Incorporeal God Father Shivahad to descend upon the earthin the human medium (body-chariot) of Pitashri PrajapitaBrahma in order to purify theimpure souls, His prodigalspiritual children, and therebytransform them into deities andalso transform the world onceagain.

Attitude of Gratitude toGod

When someone thanks youfor what you have done, it is anice feeling. Expressions ofgratitude strengthen ourrelationships. The same is truewith our relationship with God;having an attitude of gratitude toGod, praising Him and therebyexpressing gratitude to Himenhance our relationship withHim. So, it is our bounden duty

to express our sincere gratitudefor His noble task for worldtransformation. In conjunctionwith praising God, we mustconduct ourselves properlyunder the umbrella of His will.God is looking for our“reasonable service,” and thisincludes a heart of gratitude anda life that conforms to His will.“Whoever offers praiseglorifies Me; and to him whoorders his conduct aright I willshow the salvation ofGod (Psalm 50:23, NKJV).”The Unique Praises of God

The role ofbiological father and mother isso important, significant andindispensable that people haveregarded them as equivalent toGod. Satyuga, the Golden Age, as thefirst Emperor and Empress. Thedeity Shankar is the symbolicform of the instrument ofDestruction of the old Kaliyugiworld in culmination of hisperfect meditative andtranscendental state.

The Only Transformer ofHell to Heaven

John Milton, the English poet, has rightly said, “Mind is in itsown place, it can make a hell ofheaven and heaven of hell.”Therefore, Incorporeal GodFather Shiva has descended atpresent upon the world stage inSangam Yuga to transform theongoing hell into heaven bychanging the state of mind of thehuman souls from negativity to

positivity, from viciousness tovirtuousness by imparting themthe knowledge of their truespiritual identity and makingthem realize their spiritual selfthrough the practice of Rajyogameditation. He also impressesupon them to inculcate the divinevirtues and qualities now in orderto become deities in theforthcoming Golden Age ofParadise or Heaven. He is the

only Transformer of Hell toHeaven as He has the uniquecapacity of doing so because Heis the only Supreme Soul, whoremains ever pure and undefiledin the Eternal World Drama(EWD) of life. He who remainsever pure can only purify othersand make them pure andheavenly.

The Only Liberator andRedeemer from Sins and

VicesThe human souls while playing

their roles in a period of 5,000years from the Golden Age ofSatyuga to the fag-end of theIron Age of Kaliyuga becomesubjected to Seven Deadly Sinslike sex-lust, anger, greed, attachment, ego, indolence andjealousy. Due to the bondages ofthese sins, they remain entangledin the futile and transient bodilypleasures. The more they aresatisfied, the more theyfamished, because the sensual, physical pleasures cannotpermanently satiate the spiritualhunger and thirst of the souls, which are essentially spirits intrue sense of the term. GodFather Shiva is the onlyLiberator and Redeemer, wholiberates them from thesebondages and redeems them oftheir sins and vices. He givesthem the elixir of new life andtransports them to the new worldto live further a sinless and

viceless life in heaven or swarga,a span of 2,500 years.

The Only Elevator fromHuman Stage to Deity Stage

The deity souls, who reignedover the world during the GoldenAge (Satyuga) and Silver Age(Treta Yuga) at the beginning ofthe Kalpa, fell down from theirhighest ever stage of peace, purity, prosperity, health, wealthand happiness when they beginto become body-conscious atthe beginning of Dwapara Yugaby forgetting their original stageof soul-consciousness during thepassage of time. Gradually, theybecome crestfallen; they turn tobe single-crowned kings bylosing their natural aura or crownof purity. They tried to seekpeace and happiness byestablishing and worshipping theimages of Shiva Linga anddeities like Lakshmi andNarayan, as they forgot that oncethey were such deities at thebeginning of the Kalpa. In thisway, they, once the worship-worthy souls, became theworshippers of their ownimages. At fag-end of theKaliyuga, they slide down toworst stage of human beings, who live an animalistic patternof human life, being merelyindulged in what T.S. Eliot, theModern English poet, terms as“birth, copulation and death”– anasty, short and brutish pattern

of animal life. The Only Establisher of

Deity Religion andDeitism

The religious founders of allother religions like Islamism,Buddhism, Christianity,Jainism, Sikhism, etc. came attheir own time according to thescheme of the Eternal WorldDrama (EWD) and establishedtheir own religions, followed bytheir followers. During thepassage of time, the differentreligions started declining afterthe expiry of their religiousfounders and division of theirreligions into different sects. Thus, religions, which wereoriginally and practically meantto unite and enlighten people, began to divide, disenchant anddarken them, as a result ofwhich violent and virulent warswere fought in the name ofreligion and valuable lives andproperties of millions of peoplegot destroyed, thereby plungingthe humanity into deepdarkness of the ignorance. Theevil and negative impact ofdivision of religions led to allsorts of differentiation, disorganization, disintegration, disorders and disunity in life ofhuman beings, thus, renderingthem shorn of peace, purity, love, happiness, power, bliss, etc. The bloody ravages of thetwo World Wars made people

bewildered, confused anddumb-founded and evencompelled them to questionabout the real meaning of life. The modern English poet T.S.Eliot also wrote about thecondition of life in such lines inhis epic poem as: “Where is lifewe have lost in living?/Whereis knowledge we have lost ininformation?/ Where is thewisdom we have lost inknowledge?/We haveknowledge of the words/Butare ignorant of the Word./Inthe cycle of twentieth centurywe are farther from God/Butnearer to the Dust.”

At such a time of utterdisgust, desperation andhelplessness of the humansouls, Incorporeal God Father,Supreme Soul Shiva, according to the versions ofThe Geeta, descends downupon the earth in order toimpart the spiritual knowledgeof the World Cycle andtraining of Rajayogameditation to all spirituallyignorant, impoverished anddecadent souls, His prodigalspiritual children, and therebyliberate, redeem and elevatethem once again from theirwretched and deplorablehuman stage to the divine anddeif ied deity stage, andthereby finally establish theancient One Deity Religion.

is also very tiny in form as aconscient point-of-divine light. His form may be so tiny as a point(Bindu) that it is ever invisible, but in His qualities and attributesHe is the Ocean (Sindhu/Sagar) of these. In Him isassimilated the whole knowledgeof the history and geography ofthe world from the beginningthrough the middle to the end ofthe Complete World Cycle. Thatis why He is the conscient Seedof World Human GenealogicalTree. It is in this Sangam Yuga, which is otherwise known orcalled as the Age of Transition/Confluence, the KnowledgefulGod Father relates the completestory of whole human civilizationsfrom the beginning of theestablishment and continuance ofthe Pure Deity religion (PavitraAdi Santan Devi DevtaDharma) to the end of the Kalpawhen there is completeirreligiousness, impurity anddecadence in the souls andNature, and thereby He purifies, liberates, redeems and elevatesthem from their this ignoble stageto their noble and deified stageonce again to continue the nextKalpa of the repetition of deityand human civilizations.

FILTERING FALSEINFORMATION THROUGH

GOD’S KNOWLEDGE–B.K. Dr. Swapan Rudra, Durgapur, (W. B.)

Serving selflessly the souls is the special occupation of a special soul.

Majority people thinkthat they do not needany further

knowledge as they have enoughlife experiences; hence, they donot want to waste time for anyother kind of knowledge that canopen their eyes. They think thatthey can see more thansufficient through their physicaleyes and thoughts in mind. But,still they are very limited in theiroutlook and understanding inabsence of true spiritualknowledge. Therefore, beyondthe basic material knowledge weneed for survival, each of usneeds spiritual understandingand insight into the specialknowledge revealed only by theIncorporeal God Father ShivaHimself. Without a substantialspiritual foundation, our basicnatural understanding willalways fall short of showing ushow to live completely fulfilledand truly abundant lives now andhere itself, not to mention theincomparable prospect of ahappy and peaceful life in theforthcoming New World createdby God.

Gaining knowledge about our

own real self, our role andunderstanding our relationshipwith God, enables us to do thethings that we need to do, so thata wiser civilization, and a newand better world, can be created.Spiritual knowledge given byGod helps one to become awareof the wise self within, tonurture it until it grows into atree of strength and support thatwill provide fruit not only for theself, but also for others and willalso help to inspire those, whocome into our contact every day.

Knowing God’s words ispriceless knowledge. It is thetrue foundation forunderstanding all otherknowledge, counteracting andalso filtering the falseinformation we find around us.Although, He is alwaysaccessible to us, yet we cannotlisten to Him due to our inabilityto reach that higher level ofconnecting frequency. This is thefact behind not having theexperience of companionshipwith God, especially in themoment of sorrow or misery. Healways wants to help Hischildren, particularly in this

phase of world drama, butpeople can hardly listen to Himwhile they are involved in theirown crises. Due to our ownconstraint of receiving His codedwaves through divine intellect,we blame God.

To connect with God,understand and love Him, weneed to recognize Him and listento His teachings. The basics ofGodly knowledge are to makeevery soul aware of his/heroriginal self and then link it withthe Supreme. But, due to one’saddiction to body-consciousness, one fails toconnect and, as a result, thetwo-way communicationbecomes impossible.

God helps us to become fullof divine qualities by impartingspiritual knowledge. We need torealize the importance of theefforts made by God as aSupreme Teacher. Also, weneed to realize how we shouldreturn to Him for all the energyand time that He spends on usin making us perfect humanbeings and lifting up the level ofour spiritual intelligence to higherlevels. He is looming over us likea constant spiritual powercanopy. His eyes never stopwatching and protecting us fromall the difficulties that we mayface in our life.

His true knowledge elevatesa person from his low-status andhelps him to perceive life in a

different but positive way. Lifeis not as difficult as we think; itis very easy and simple only ifwe change our thought patterns. If we keep in mind a few wordsof advice like “Be good, do goodand think good” and “Do not seeevil, hear evil, speak evil andeven think evil”; then, our liveswill automatically be filled with

virtues, which, in turn, will giveus peace and happiness. We allare in search of peace andhappiness, but could not find thetreasure due to our own personalblockages. God’s knowledgeonly helps us to remove all ourwastes and negativities andinvoke qualities like love, happiness, contentment and

truthfulness that will make usworthy of receiving God’sspiritual sustenance andsupport, and thereby achieve theinheritance for forthcoming 21births in the New Golden AgedWorld of Satyuga, which willfollow after the greatDestruction of the old KaliyugiWorld.

VICTIM CONSCIOUSNESS: THE REAL ENEMY–B.K. Shikha, Pune

One of the deepest habits ofmost people is victimconsciousness that refers to

blaming others for everything that iswrong in their life. We most often dothis because it is easy. What is difficultis to find the solution and work on it;so, we often choose the easier way, blaming or treating others as theenemy. It could be a country, a religion, some people, situations or somethingelse and we spend the rest of our lives, cursing that enemy. Interestingly, theenemy keeps changing. Because, weget addicted to the habit of cursing andfinding faults, we need to find an objectof our negativity and the circle ofnegativity just keep going on. We keepgrooming the tree of negativity therebygiving it lots of attention, watering it atregular intervals and making sure thatit is getting all essential minerals.

How will this stop? And who will stopthis? It cannot be someone else.Whatever has been set wrong by me,has to be set right by me. And the wayto set it right is to realise that I am theonly one responsible for what ishappening in my life. Take theownership and take a consciousdecision to put a full stop to this negativethought process or pattern. We oftenspend our life living in the past or thefuture, but the real enjoyment comeswhen we start living in the Now! Whatis gone is gone and what will happennext, is completely unpredictable, andthat is how life works. But, this verymoment, which will become past verysoon, has to be lived well. So, now, atthis moment let me make a consciousdecision to end the cycle of negativityand take control of my life by giving theright direction to my thoughts.

ROLE OF RAJAYOGA ANDSPIRITUALITY IN TIME

MANAGEMENT

You can be a loving image of God if you can merge and emerge His love in you.

Time management hasbecome an importantaspect of our everyday

life in which we have toconstantly prioritise and choosefrom a plethora of options. Timemanagement has been discussedat length and probably volumeshave been written about it in thepersonal development, careerenhancement and self-help zone, but have we ever explored theissue from a spiritualperspective? Before doing that,I would like to explain why I aimto do so.

First, in my opinion, both timemanagement and spiritualityconcerns our way of life and areinterdependent. One of thebiggest challenges we facewhen trying to go about doingwhat needs to be done, is themind. The mind is unscrupulousand a master at makingapparently genuineexcuses. The challenge is to bevery aware and to catch whenwe are just about to make anexcuse and be strong enough notto give in. That is the only way

we can accomplish more in ourday-to-day life and alsoeffectively manage time toadhere to deadlines withoutfeeling drained out.

But, it is easier said thandone? That is where spiritualitycomes in our life, therebyenabling us to do rather than justto say. This is where I amreminded of a context from thelines in Shakespeare’s playJulius Caesar: “Men at sometime are masters of their fates:The fault, dear Brutus, is not inour stars, / But in ourselves, thatwe are underlings…”

The power in the abovestatement is that it creates itsown momentum. In otherwords, this statement clearlyindicates that we do have thepotential to be the master oftime, but the fact that we cannotachieve it, lies in our ownshortcomings. I depart from thecurrent philosophy that workdrains our energy. On thecontrary, I believe that you havemore energy when you are ableto achieve more and you are

more confident and ready whenthe next task arrives. All we needto do is to effectively managetime and thereby manageourselves better.

Secondly, if we extend theconcept of time management toall spheres of corporate, social, political and environmentalsystems, achieving it wouldrequire our collaboration, whichis not possible without ourshared values. Timemanagement also requires achange in lifestyle and mindset.

Spirituality, thus, comes intopicture to add the missingdimension of self awareness, self control and selftransformation. We cannotcontrol the hands of the clock, but we can definitely stopourselves from racing againsttime.

The two simple strategies toreduce alarmed feelings of beingpressed for time are: practice ofRajyoga meditation andacquisition of spiritualknowledge, which help us in re-channeling of any worked-upfeelings of stress into moreproductive high-energyemotions. However, this has tobe a conscious decision to put inthe effort to achieve the largergoals. And when the quality ofenergy is positive, we will beable to manage time better.Often I encounter questions like“Where’s the time to meditate

when we don’t find enough timeeven to finish work?” Honestly,we cannot literally add hours tothe span of day, can we? If thatwere possible, we wouldcustomize our weekends to 36hours or more. We cannotinfluence the externalenvironment, but we candefinitely try to better managethe 24 hours in an efficientmanner. Starting with 30minutes to 1 hour of investmentin morning meditation, will directour energy flow for the rest ofour day. And who would notwant to invest just 30 minutes inthe morning, which will impactthe remaining hours of the day?

Rajyog meditation can helpliberate you from the pressuresof time. This is partly because ithelps you deal with tasks moreskillfully and creatively. It makesyou happier and less stressedtoo. Numerous researches haveconfirmed the importance ofmorning hours. In the morning, our mind and intellect aretypically the sharpest, and wehave the largest store of energyto work effectively andproactively. Further, in themornings, we are less likely tobe interrupted by urgencies thatoccur as the day progresses. But, to translate this into action,we need self-control. Self-control and energy are not onlyconnected but are also finite justlike time. In the grind of

everyday life, our schedule tiresour soul much like a muscle. Eventhough we don’t much realize it,as the day progresses, weunderstand our increaseddifficulty in applying self-controland focusing on work. As self-control recedes, our exhaustionand negative- energy-flow takesover the centre stage and we findthe task at hand to be extremelychallenging. This tiredness ofsoul kills our productivity and ourenergy is drained. For reference, there is an interesting study byJohn Denninger (2015), apsychiatrist at Harvard MedicalSchool, on how meditation canward off stress and disease. Thisis where time and spirituality gohand in hand. To achieve the bestbenefits of time, spirituality isreally the only guide.

Otherwise, in today’s patternsof lifestyles and demands, weare all emotionally conflictedand, invariably, anxiety takesover. It is this anxiety that makesyou feel like you don’t haveenough time to do it all. Howmany of us have ever wantedmore than 24 hours in a day tobe able to achieve more? However, when we reflect uponthe experiences, do we think thatwe ‘could have done better’moments? Given that the pastcircumstances were the same, why do we have this feeling ofdéjà vu? Only because we knowthat we could have done better,

but we did not; simply becauseour mind was busy makingexcuses; and, in any case, it iseasier to blame circumstancesthan ourselves.

Often, without being aware,a lot of our time is lost becauseour mind and intellect areoscillating between the past andthe future. Meditation brings thefocus back to thepresent moment, which is thefield of action as we cannot actin the past or future, rather whatwe can do is to act in the ‘now!’So, when the mind is in thepresent, we can do much morein the same specified time. Thatis where Rajyoga meditationcan help to sail through thetroubled waters of the day in apeaceful manner and, further, enable us to sort out ourtimelines in an effective manner.Rajayoga meditation can lead toprofound shift in how the brainallocates attention. And if wehave the tool to sharpen ourattentiveness, do we really haveto worry about timemanagement issues? Theshared truth is: we all know thatwe can do it and thatsomewhere deep down wehave the quality and the abilityto do things better. However, still we fail. This is where weneed spiritual intervention tosharpen our intellect. This, inturn, influences our decisionmaking process and ability to

prioritise. And, once, we are ableto do that, we automaticallyinvest our time in what is neededrather than wasting our time andenergy in procrastination tomake decisions.

Time management translatedthrough spirituality is aboutrespecting your own self andothers as well. However, thespiritual ambit is often lost as wetend to blame dearth of time, other people, and situations forour own failure to manageourselves. We incline ourselvesto an array of negative energieslike fear, despair and frustrationwhen we are not able to copeup with time. In the meantime,we conveniently push thespiritual aspect away and starttime-chasing things thatwouldn’t happen anyway.Rajayoga meditation can helpadd hours to our day. We canexperience this for ourselvesover a period of time as wemeditate daily and go deeper intothe practice. This is the secondstage of time management in thespiritual journey in which westop chasing time and are ableto move from time managementto time creation.

Thirdly, feeling pressed fortime can have many harmfulconsequences such as poorerhealth, insomnia and depression. What signal are we giving to ourbody when we are constantly inhaste? What impact will it have

on our psyche? By pausing, wecan utilise the time we actuallyhave in a healthier and happierway. I would like to incorporatethe spiritual concept of ‘trafficcontrol’ into this aspect, whichreminds us to pause, to breakaway from the present activityand connect with the SupremeEnergy above. No words canunderline the importance of thisand we will only have to try thisto understand the wonders. Andif we can include this in oureveryday life, I bet that we willnot have to take sabbaticals orplan long holidays to giveourselves a break from work.Further, bad, negative, unholy andfractured relationships also draina lot of our time and energy, which, in turn, affect ourwellbeing. The practice of timemanagement is not just limitedto workplace but can easily beapplied to household situationsas well. Spirituality teaches uswhen to invest, when todisconnect and when to stop. This practice transforms therelationship dynamics at home.As a result, we are able to spendquality time with our lovedones.

Fourthly, this might be apersonal proposition; but, honestly, there is time foreverything that truly matters toyou. In my opinion “not havingenough time” has become oneof recent fads of the 21st

Century and I think it has ledus to be superficially happyabout the delusional fact ofbeing busy all the time. Thereis a certain kind of pseudoimportance attached to not-having-time and somewhere itsatisfies our ego. But, doesn’tit sound like a lame excuse? Weoften become so focused andconcentrated on planning thefuture that we miss the mostimportant moments in our life, which lies in the present.

Conclusively, if an action isperformed in the spirit of Yogaor connection, (as I understandbeing detached from thematerial process and connectedwith Supreme Energy), then thepsyche becomes predisposed tofunction in accordance with theunified decision-makingprocess. The attitude ofperforming work in Yogafacilitates a reflective innerpropensity; which leads to thediscovery of the underlyingsuppressed issues therebyinfluencing time managementand decision making issues. However, the sustainability oftime management andspirituality depends on individualpractice. It is only by embracingspiritual congruity that we cansuppress the various causes ofdisruptive forces and restorepositive energy, therebyinfluencing our time andproductivity.

THE WORLD ISYOUR LOBSTER

One can be a jewel of contentment by remaining aware of one’s eternal form.

To attract God is no smallfeat and to get Him tofollow you, you’ll need

much sweetness, knowledgeand Love! Love is the key to allaspects of success, be it singing, riding a bike or gardening andgrowing large vegetables.

The only trick you need tolearn in life is to turn the 2%good you find in your life andmake that into 100%.

The Street Named‘Without Any Love’

This street named ‘WithoutAny Love’ is in every city, town and village. Few canescape the onslaught andmarching army of sorrow thatlong ago burnt its flag of truthand progress in favour ofliving under a selfish flag.Progress has got us to themoon, to view and split theatom, smart phones and instantcombination. All of these areexperienced with no love, always busy on the move withno time, peace and happiness. So, what have we actuallyachieved?

Without the treasures of

peace, happiness, love andcontentment, you’ll find life tobe shallow, boring, unhappyand rather pointless. Such arethese treasures and purposesof life; without them, you canbe a ship in a storm with noanchor, radio, map, compass, telescope, hope or chance ofrescue.

The Bus to NowhereGoes Nowhere

Everyone jumps up on thisbus every day with a carefreeattitude. The driver is blind (notknowing who he is, where hehas come from or is going orwhat is happening in theworld), the conductor does notcare and is corrupt (caught upon life’s treadmill of chasingmoney) and the bus (body)itself is falling apart and leakspoisonous fumes (pain) intothe driver’s cabin (their mind).

So, there you have it. Youcall in the bus station eachmorning and get the only busyou’ve ever caught thatrequires no fare and itspassengers do not really carewhere they are going. Most of

this civilization is on this bustravelling very fast yet gettingnowhere.

The only thing of certaintyis that tomorrow will not be asgood as today. Life gets morecomplicated, problematic andawful from day to day.Happiness decreases, not daily, but hourly. No one should everdisagree with this fact and ifthey do, get them to watch theevening news on T.V.

Life was once like an openoyster for all to partake andenjoy. And now? Life haschanged from ‘the world isyour oyster’ to ‘the world isyour lobster ’. It is quitesurprising how many peoplelive for their evening bag offish and chips or chocolatebars and even a packet ofboiled sweets.

Life’s Only Choice –Sailing on Yacht of Values

Life should consist of justone choice, last choice, onlychoice, and most importantchoice – sailing on yacht ofvalues. Yet, for most, thechoice is often only betweenpizza, Indian or Chinese, orwhich dress and shoes to wearor to stay in with a bottle ofwine or go to a movie. On suchchoices, people’s lives revolveand get in a spin.

Is it a happy face that youwear? Do you walk in peace togreat places? Is your lifecomfortable or do you have tocarry bales of straw on yourback? Do you have manystraws of bad karma burdeningyou down?

Do you have any protectiveboots, shoes, socks, coat ortrousers (values of love, peace, purity, power) to help you getthrough life being blown awayin the storm?

Are you a Tug boat of lovepulling the world behind you oron life’s speedboat speeding nextto the crowded beach? Are youremembering God on aspeedboat that is headingstraight for the rocks?

The speedboat (of bodyconsciousness, success andego) whizzes past the beach

creating such waves for all tosee. Whilst people are on thisboat, happiness eludes them untilthey run out of petrol (energy).Ignorance is the fuel that drivestheir speedboat with bad habitsbeing their motor.

People’s pursuits make methink that the rubber tyres (ofinnocence, of learning, ofspirituality) are a much happierform of transport on the waterand by far are the safest and bestto ways to reach the shore. Thespeedboat, on the other hand, with its speed (ego and greed),will sink you.

Ignorance speeds up yourthought process and createsholes of ignorance and greedbelow the waterline and whoseanchor of bad habits will dragyou down to the bottom. Thechain to this anchor is made upof the continual links of ego andgreed, ego and greed.

It is a cruel and dangeroussea out there on which all boatssail. This sea is all around you

and is unending with waves ofsorrow, deceit, dishonesty andfalsehood continually coming inwith each tide.

Man is unlikely to survive theperpetual storm of sorrow, agony, starvation, conflict anddarkness as he knowingly andunknowingly wastes his lifeenjoying himself on hisspeedboat, without preparing forthe future storms.

This speedboat of life isdevoid of almost any real loveand happiness and offers nocontentment. People keep ridingit not knowing where they aregoing. It is time that peoplerealize that God has come tocorrect their ways and makethem elevated, so that they canstep down from their speedboatand step on to the yacht of valueswhich will take them on thevoyage of peace, contentmentand harmony. So, choosebetween the speedboat of body-conscious and yacht of values. It is your choice!!!

TRUE LOVE COMESTO LIBERATE AND

SET US FREE

The reason of discontentment is lack of any sort of attainment.

Every human soul wantsto love and to be lovedby others. Love

provides a feeling of wellbeing, contentment, security andsupport, which one cannot getfrom money, power andprestige. Love acts likesunshine, lighting up one’s life, enriching the soul and making itbloom up.

Love must not be confusedwith physical sensation or sexualattraction. The body is subjectto disease and decay and lovebased solely on physical beautywithers away as the years goby. True love comes to liberateand set us free. True love doesnot demand anything. In fact, itis prepared to give everything. To understand true love, first ofall we need to know our trueidentity - that we are souls, butnot bodies. The soul is thesentient point-of-light that giveslife to the body. Peace, purity, love, joy and truth are the naturalattributes of every soul.

When we remember our real

self, the intrinsic goodness of thesoul begins to emerge and it getsthe strength to establish a lovinglink with God, who is the Oceanof all qualities, values, virtuesand powers. The canopy ofGod’s love and protection is thebest source of comfort andsecurity in the world in whichpeople are now livingincreasingly lonely and insecurelife. One, who is enriched byGod’s love, is not only freed ofdependency on other humans butalso becomes a conduit forsharing that love with others.

God, the Supreme Soul, is theFather of all the souls, and Heloves each of His children morethan a human being can love hischildren, because His love iscompletely pure andunconditional. He sees only thebest in His children. In spite ofknowing their flaws fully well,

He does not let His vision getbiased against them. Ratherbeing ever Merciful, He alwayswishes them well, and is everready to empower them, so thatthey can overcome theirweaknesses and become free ofthe sorrows and sufferings theyexperience.

The self awareness of ourtrue identi ty and ourrelationship with God give usthe power to open our eyes tothe innate goodness of others.Loving God allows us to loveourselves first, so that wehave the strength of heart andmind to give the same to otherpersons. It also gives us theunderstanding that all humansouls are related to each otherby virtue of being the childrenof the Supreme Soul. Weshould be sure of givingunconditional love to peopleeven when they make foolishmistakes and fail to do whatwe want them to do and wedon’t feel disappointed orirritated with them even whenthey get into our way. Whenpeople make a seemingly poorchoice about their lives, takea wrong turn, undo orsabotage our happiness, it isour unconditional love that

keeps them right there. Wecan empower others not byjudging or punishing them butby loving and accepting themwithout conditions. It is theselfless love alone that has thepower to bind people togetherand create good and viablerelationships, quite beyond ourpresent capacity to imagine.

Love also has power toheal. Only the power of purelove, unconditional love orlove of God, can help us to getrid of the suppressed paininside the subconscious. When we live through asituation that causes us pain,we have to love the self andlove others withoutexpectations. The truth is thatwe invite suffering onourselves by our own selfishdesires and expectations. Ifwe do not want to makeourselves suffer, then startingfrom now, we have to learnto give love withoutconsidering how others shouldbehave with us. Instead offocusing on what others needto do, we need to focus on ourown qualities and bring theminto action. This is true love.Such a love, when broughtinto act ion, becomes abeautiful foundation for ahappy, peaceful and lastingrelationship.

A yogi shows the splendour of his elevated life through the royalty of purity.

PERSONALITY RADIATIONEach thought that we create, every word we speak and

every action we perform are responsible for the radiationof non-physical energy or vibration into the universeincluding other people, the surroundings or the atmosphereas well as to physical nature. A very important aspect ofour consciousness, which influences the quality of thisvibration, is the intention or hidden meaning behind eachthought, word and action. When the intention is pure, positive and unconditional, positive vibrations of the energyof peace, love, good wishes, happiness and truth gettransmitted. People, who experience this positive energyvibrations from us, are reminded of their personal positivequalities, even if these qualities are different from ours, and get inspired to imbibe the same and put them intopractice, although this may not even be our consciousintention in the first place, but we just have a generalpure, positive, intention towards everything and everyonearound us. But, this giving of inspiration happensautomatically. On the other hand, when the intention isnegative and impure, it is as if we bring other people, surroundings and nature down, i.e., in a way we draw andabsorb positive energy from these entities, instead of fillingthem. People, without realizing this will come down fromtheir positive personality state on receiving this energyand become inclined to thinking and speaking againsttheir basic, positive nature; thus, it is a negative inspiration. Both of these types are energy exchanges, but one ispositive and the other is negative.

The above process happens even when we are quiet, not creating any thoughts and not speaking or performingany actions. Depending on the kind of nature or personalitywe have, those type of vibrations keep getting emittedfrom us all the time. The higher the quality of the activityinside the mind and intellect during the day and, in general,in our life, even if they are inactive at a particular point oftime, the higher the quality of the energy is radiated atthat time. It seems as if we are constant spiritual energyradiators and radiate our personality all the time, evenwhile we sleep. The purer is our personality, the purer thisradiation is.

Anger kills. Historyspeaks how anger cantake lives of millions of

people as evidenced by thebombing on Hiroshima andNagasaki, during the last phaseof the Second World War in1945. We can look atAfghanistan, Pakistan, SriLanka, North Korea, China,France, Turkey and any part ofthe world, where every day alarge number of people die dueto wars, conflicts or by terroristattacks. War is initiated to showone’s superiority over others orin the name of religion. Thehuman lives have become asinsignificant as flies ormosquitoes or any other insects.

The negative effects of angerhave been observed throughouthistory. In scriptures, we are toldthat Kauravs fought withPandavas and they destroyedthemselves and their generationstoo. A saint named Durvasa inIndian scriptures was known forhis anger. Everybody wasscared of his anger. Vishwamitra

ANGER: IT’S CAUSES,EFFECTS ANDPREVENTION

– Prof. B. K. Banshidhar Sahu,Bhubaneswar

killed 100 sons of Saint Vashisthain the rage of his anger becauseVashistha never considered himas “Brahmarishi” and used toaddress him always as“Rajarshi”.

We can see that generallypeople die due to ego or anger.A man does not hesitate to killhis daughter and son-in-law ifthe daughter marries a boy ofother caste. The son kills hisfather if his father does not givemoney to him. Every day we canread such news in newspapers.

Causes of Anger:Anger is an intense emotional

response to a perceivedprovocation, hurt orthreat. Anger can occur whena person feels that his personalboundaries are being or going tobe violated. Some have alearned tendency to react toanger through retaliation as away of coping. Anger may beutilized effectively by settingboundaries or escaping fromdangerous situations. Theexternal expression of anger can

be found in facial expressions, body language, physiologicalresponses, and at times in publicacts of aggressions. Animals, for example, make loud sounds, attempt to look physically larger, bare their teeth and stare. Suchbehaviours associated withanger are designed to warnaggressors to stop theirthreatening behaviour. Rarelydoes a physical altercation occurwithout the prior expression ofanger by at least one of theparticipants. While most of thosewho experience anger explain itsarousal as a result of “what hashappened to them,”Psychologists point out that anangry person can very well bemistaken because anger causesa loss in self-monitoring capacityand objective observability.

There are various reasons foranger. One of the mostimportant is the unfulfilled desireand attachment. If it is notfulfilled one becomes sad. Thesadness leads to discontentmentand then to anger. Anotherreason of anger is to be at waragainst the past. Theoccurrence which happened inthe past may cause us anger. Also we get angry with anotherperson when he has donesomething wrong. There arevarious sources of anger. Theyare: (1) Impatience, (2)Irritability, (3) Frustration, (4)Indignation, (5) Self-

righteousness, (6) Situation uponwhich anger is expressed orsuppressed.

However, the main cause ofanger is the ego and self-centeredness which mostlyleads to discontentment. Mostimportant factor of anger isbody-consciousness and it is theroot of all the disturbances inlife.

Effects of Anger:Anger brings imbalance and

temporary madness. It canaffect physically and mentally aswell. When any one gets angry, his face becomes red. The angerburns a large number of braincells and raises high bloodpressure and one may fallunconscious if it continues formore time. The anger harms theheart; so, there is a chance ofheart attack. Anger alsodamages the nervous systemand profuse leakage of bloodmay take place. Once, we getangry with someone, we cannotrecoup our original stage of soulconsciousness at least for amonth. We cannot practisemeditation, because the figure ofthat particular man will appearin our mind.

Angry expression might havenegative outcome for individualsand organizations as well, suchas decrease of productivity andincrease of job stress.Physiological responses to anger

include an increase in the heartrate, preparing the person tomove, and increase of the bloodflow to the hands, preparingthem to strike. Perspirationincreases particularly when theanger is intense.

Anger also increasesindigestion and disturbs sleep, causing tiredness andexhaustion. The body becomessusceptible to diseases due toreduction of immunity system ofthe body. It also quickens ageingand shortens life span. Angerdepletes the positive energy levelin man as a result of which itprocreates a shadow over hisjudgment, causes emotionalimbalances, harmony in therelationship gets soured and thehappiness runs miles away fromhim. As a piece of steel loses itstemper when it is heated in fire,a person loses his temper andintegrity due to the fire of anger.

Prevention of Anger:We must recognise the anger

signs to apply correction.Counting to 10 gives us timeto cool down, so we can thinkmore clearly and overcomethe impulse to lash out.Breathe out for longer thanyou breathe in, and relax asyou breathe out. This will calmyou down effectively and helpto think more clearly.Drink a glass of waterimmediately. Do a short

exercise or have a short walkto control the anger.Hear spiritual music.Anger comes when we forgetthat we are a divine being andthe child of Almighty SupremeFather. The attributes of thesoul are that it is peaceful, loveful, blissful, knowledgeful, powerful, pure, and happy.Throughout the day, try toremain in soul-conscious stateand remind the self that angeris not the original attribute ofthe soul. It is acquired by egoof power and position. The soul is incorporeal andfully pure (Nirakari &Nirvikari). So practiseNirakari and Faristha(Angelic) stage.Give full attention to mind, heart and intellect. We haveto avoid the subtle andmaterial desires in mind andthe attachment in heart. Thenthe intellect can judge rightly.Remember that if the soulleaves the body at anymoment, what will it carrywith it. If we have anger, nopure propensities will go withthe soul.Always remember the sayingof Brahma Baba, “What I do,others will follow me”. Keepattention on mind, intellect andresolves.Have positive thoughts. Donot make assumption about

anybody. Have pure and loving thoughtsand good wishes for others.Try to inculcate the divine virtues, suchas love, compassion, caring, empathyetc., as this will leave no place foranger.Try to increase the inner qualities suchas acceptance, tolerance, patience, accommodation. Remember thatnobody is making us angry. Everyoneis an actor on this world stageperforming their given roles. We arehero actors in this world drama and ourduty is to give happiness to everyone.Practise every day at least for ten times, any one point of self-respect (swaman)given to us by the Supreme Father.By practising Rajyoga every day, one

can win over anger. Remember that alife free from anger is a life full ofhappiness. If we cannot free ourselvesfrom anger now, we can never behappy.

INVOKE THE SHAKTI WITHIN -POWER TO TOLERATE

Power to tolerate is our ability to remaininternally unaffected when situations and peopleare not our way. This power involves extendingopenness and acceptance, and internallyresolving any conflict with right understanding. It is about rising beyond our ordinary ways ofreacting when scenes of life are not favorable.Tolerance comes with the knowledge that eachsoul is different from us. Their thoughts, feelings, perceptions are different from us. Theirsanskars and karmic accounts were createdon the journey of different births in differentenvironments facing different situations. So, wecannot question other’s behavior or sanskars. This understanding helps us accept people asthey are. We reach a point where we easilytolerate different sanskars. We reach a stagewhere there is no feeling of having to tolerate.Power to tolerate means we live and work withpeople with the understanding that differentsanskars are the natural way to be. We do notwaste our energy or get agitated thinking orquestioning: “Why are they this way, how canthey be like this. We do not try to control themor force them to change. We inspire andempower them and they chose to change whatthey find uncomfortable about themselves. Letus make a list of simple habits of people, whichwe have not been able to tolerate so far. It isonly a programming of our mind as we alwaystell our self that we cannot tolerate somethingor someone. Today, let us create a thought: Iaccept this sanskar of theirs and from now theirsanskar will not create any disturbance in mymind.

GIVINGWith habits, never give in orwe lose our dignity. With theself, never give up or we loseour destiny. With othersnever give your worst or youwill never develop your best. The saying, “What we giveis what we receive”. Thelesson: Just to give.

People have, until now, beenlooking upon religion as a meansof individual liberation. It hasbeen divorced from socialproblems and man’s dailyroutine. However, spiritualism isa force for solving socialproblems and it acts to provideman with a moral code, whichhe ought to observe in hisbusiness dealings and otherrelationships. In fact, almost allthe problems, which the societyfaces today, are due to thereasons that only spirituality cantackle. Over-population, eve-teasing, criminal assault andadultery, for example, are due toinflamed sex-lust. Economicexploitation, bribery, adulteration, etc. are due to man’s greed.
