INTRODUCTION
The litter installation is installed on the left hand side of
the aircraft in the area formerly occupied by the co-pilot
seat and aft facing L/H passenger seat. The litter
attaches to the aircraft through the use of an aluminum
honeycomb litter board that travels fore and aft
approximately 14" total. Roller assemblies attach to the
co-pilot kick panel and left hand aft facing seat kick
panel. The stretcher lock is located on the aft outboard
side of the litter board. The litter board travel release is
located on the aft edge of the board. A cutout is made to
the skin behind the co-pilot seat and the L/H forward
fuel tank fitting was modified in order to provide
clearance for the litter installation.

ROTORCRAFT MANUFACTURER’S DATA
GENERAL The litter is installed on the left hand side of the aircraft in the area formerly occupied by the co-pilot seat and aft facing L/H passenger seat. The litter attaches to the aircraft through the use of an aluminum honeycomb litter board that travels fore and aft approximately 14” total. Roller assemblies attach to the co-pilot kick panel and left hand aft facing seat kick panel. A cutout is made to the skin behind the co-pilot seat and the L/H forward fuel tank fitting was modified in order to provide clearance for the litter installation. Helifab’s litter installation allows for the installation of a patient litters (P/N 2501-1, 2501-2 and 2501-3) or equipment transport litters (P/N 2511-1 and 2521-1). All litters secure to the litter board in the same manner, and are therefore interchangeable with the basic installation. The procedures contained in the instructions for continued airworthiness must be followed when changing from one litter to another. The following gives an abbreviated summary of the litter positions allowed during takeoff, flight, landing and takeoff phases. Always refer to placards and instructions for continued airworthiness (ICA) for operating limitations. Allowed litter positions: Litter PN 2501-1 and 2501-2 (Patient Litters)
• Litter board may be in any position for any phase of flight. • Litter backrest must be in the horizontal position during takeoff, taxi and landing. • Litter backrest may be inclined up to 45° from the horizontal during normal flight.
Litter PN 2501-3 (Patient Litter)
• Litter board may be in any position for any phase of flight. • Litter backrest may be inclined up to 30° from horizontal during takeoff, taxi and
landing. • Litter backrest may be inclined up to 45° from the horizontal during normal flight.
Litter PN 2511-1 and 2521-1 (Equipment Litters)
• Litter should be in the full aft position so as to allow the passenger lap belt to wrap around the aft tube of the litter.

CHAPTER 1 GENERAL
1.1 Introduction
1.1.1 General Product Information
The Helifab, Inc. Litter installation allows for the transport of one litter patient or one neonatal incubator transport unit. The litter installation includes the following fea-tures:
Litter Deck – The litter deck is fastened to the aircraft and is a means of securing the Stretcher. The stretcher is able to be slid aft for better care of the patient. Litter - There are five (5) different litter assemblies that can be used with Helifab’s lit-ter kit installation. They are:
Patient Litter – (PN 2501-1) This litter assembly is for transportation of a patient and uses fixed
carrying handles on the aft end of the litter. This litter assembly is allowed to be in any longitudinal position during any phase of flight when the proper placards are installed. The litter backrest must be fully reclined during takeoff and landing and may be inclined up to 45° in flight.
Patient Litter – (PN 2501-2). This litter assembly is for transportation of a patient and uses folding
carrying handles on the aft end of the litter. This litter assembly is al-lowed to be in any longitudinal position during any phase of flight when the proper placards are installed. The litter backrest must be fully reclined during takeoff and landing and may be inclined up to 45° in flight.
Patient Litter – (PN 2501-3) This litter assembly is for transportation of a patient and uses folding
carrying handles on the aft end of the litter. A foot diaphragm for addi-tional patient restraint is included with this assembly. This litter assembly is allowed to be in any longitudinal position during any phase of flight and is the only litter as-sembly allowed to have the backrest inclined during takeoff and landing phases when the proper placards are installed. The maximum backrest inclination during takeoff and landing is 30°, and an inclination angle of 45° is allowed during flight.
Incubator Litter (PN 2511-1) – This litter secures to the aircraft in the same manner as the patient litter and has a quick release mounting system for the Airshields TI-500 in-cubator. This litter must be in the full aft position for use to allow the passenger seat belt to wrap around the aft end of the litter.

Incubator Litter (PN 2521-1) – This litter secures to the aircraft in the same manner as the stretcher and has quick release mounting provisions for the Airborne 20H incuba-tor as well as a rack for three medical gas cylinders and shelf for securing technicians soft goods backpack. This litter must be in the full aft position for use to allow the passenger seat belt to wrap around the aft end of the litter. Copilot seat belt installation brackets – This is an optional installation that incorpo-rates copilot seat belt mount brackets. This allows the copilot seat to be occupied when the litter is removed. The copilot seat belt brackets may remain installed and does not affect litter operation.
1.1.2 Scope of the aircraft maintenance manual
(1) This equipment maintenance manual HF-206-ICA-STRETCHER-1 describes the
required procedures for maintaining continued airworthiness for the Bell 206 L series aircraft with the Helifab medical stretcher. This manual only includes information for servicing, maintenance, inspection and re-pair within the scope of an appropriately rated mechanic or repair station.

The function and operation of the system components are described below: A) PN HF-206-EMS-2000-1 General Arrangement/206L EMS Litter
The general arrangement drawings Figure 1 and 2 show the location of the installed equipment in the aircraft. The medical litter is installed on the left side of the aircraft cabin. The litter assembly consists of fwd and aft roller assemblies, litter board as-sembly and a modified Ferno litter. The litter assembly attaches to the aircraft by the addition of the Helifab position lock latching mechanism consisting of an alignment mount on the forward end and a latch mechanism attached to the aft end. The restraint system is attached directly to the litter assembly.
