How-to Guide to Initiate and Access your eForm and VMET Documents

Step 1. Go to https://milconnect-pki.dmdc.osd.mil/milconnect/

Then click the green ‘Sign In’ button in the upper right corner. If you go to www.dodtap.mil it will

redirect you to milConnect.

Step 2. Select a log-in. There are 3 options. If you use the CAC option, select the NON-EMAIL

certificate, otherwise it will delay the log-in process. It is HIGHLY encouraged to use your DS login

(Username and Password created through eBenefits) to log in to your eForm.

There will be a consent screen that you will need to review before selecting the ‘ok’ button.

Step 3. Once signed in, select the ‘Correspondence/Documentation’ drop down menu.

Click ‘DoD Transition Assistance Program (DoDTAP)’.

Note: This is your dashboard. Here you will be able to access your Transition and VMET documents.

Step 4. To initiate your eForm, click ‘Initialize Pre-Separation Counseling’ button. If you have already

initiated your eForm, click on the ‘eForm’ short link under Transition Documents Reported For Me.

To access your VMET document, click ‘VMET’ tab in your dashboard.

Step 5. Once you have initiated your eForm, click the ‘Print’ button (in the eForm) to print out a

draft copy of the eForm. This will show proof that your eForm has been initialized. Please make sure

you click the ‘Save’ before clicking the ‘Close’ button, then sign out of milConnect.

2-Day Tracks

In addition to TRS you will attend additional training tracks to further help navigate your next steps in the transition process. These additional training tracks are determined by your Transition Counselor based on your transition career path. Marines and Sailors should complete these requirements before registering for the TRS.

Please initial next to each track to acknowledge that you have read and have been informed of the tracks you are required to complete.

Managing Your Education Track: A 2-day seminar facilitated by a Personal and Professional Development staff which guides the Marine through the variety of decisions involved in choosing a college, degree program, the admissions process and funding options. The expected outcome is a Service Member will have created a customized plan for a successful transition to a higher education institution.

Entrepreneurship Track: Also referred to as “Boots 2 Business” is a 2-day seminar facilitated by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for Marines and Sailors interested in pursuing self-employment in the private or non-profit sector. This course will teach service members about the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, the benefits, and realities of entrepreneurship, and the steps toward business ownership.

Career Exploration and Planning Track (VOTECH): The Career Exploration and

Planning Track workshop offers a unique opportunity to identify skills, increase awareness of training and credentialing programs, and develop an action plan to achieve career goals. Service Members and spouses who attend the 2-day Department of Labor Career Exploration and Planning Track workshop will complete personalized career development assessments of occupational interest, aptitudes, and work values. These assessments will present workshop participants with a variety of tailored jobs recommendations aligned with their interest and aptitudes, some of which are classified as “high demand” or “high growth” occupations.

To register please call 645-3151. Department of Labor Employment Track: The 2-Day Department of Labor

Employment Workshop (DOLEW) is a track available to meet the congressionally mandated requirement for those who seek employment after separating or retiring from the military. The DOLEW curriculum is designed to assist Service Members with their transition into high-quality civilian careers. The track will assist in identifying and developing career goals, understanding hiring methods, creating a professional introduction, and draft resume.
