We welcome Dr. Christopher Nichols to Westminster this morning for his first “appearance,” joining organist

Paul Fleckenstein in presenting Finnish composer Bernhard Crusell’s Clarinet Concerto in F minor during our

10:00 o’clock worship service. In addition to numerous performing credits, Chris is currently Assistant Professor

of Clarinet at the University of Delaware. Next week: Pianist Julie Nishimura returns to present one of Mozart’s

piano concertos. The flowers in the Sanctuary are given to the Glory of God and in loving memory of Jane Kline from the Kline family. Sanctuary Flowers - Consider giving the flowers for Sunday worship to remember or honor loved ones or to celebrate an event, while expressing praise and thanksgiving to God. All children who leave the sanctuary after Children’s Time must have a completed yellow security label on their back. Whether you are a long-time member or new to the church, wearing a nametag provides others the opportunity to meet you, greet you by name, and for you to become more familiar with others at church. You will find nametags and markers in baskets at all major entrances. Worship Resources – You may obtain large print hymn sheets and hearing devices from any usher. Worship bags for children ages 3-6 include a children’s bulletin designed for them. Children’s bulletins for ages 7-12 are also available from the ushers.

Afghanistan often seems far away, and we may neglect to realize that Americans, as well as Afghans and members of coalition forces continue to die. As Christians, we are called to pray for the spreading of peace and justice and an end to violence. Please join us on Sunday, September 7 for 50 minutes of fellowship. The Holy Toast Café will reopen, so pick up a cup of coffee and something to eat and then take a stroll around Community Hall to gather information and engage in conversation about Christian Education at Westminster. Our Christian Education Booklet will be available at the open house or from the main literature table thereafter. There is something for everyone! Adults, take note that the booklet includes Sunday morning adult education classes for the entire program year.

Westminster’s Urban and Global Mission Committees are asking you to help us celebrate our fantastic mission program on Sunday, September 14. Committee members will move around the Holy Toast Café wearing sandwich boards decorated to show all of our extensive mission programs. We will relay our knowledge of the different programs and ask you to join us in fellowship by sharing in our feast of mission cupcakes provided by our volunteers. We may have more surprises in store for all the children and parents, young and old, as we say thank you for your support.
