Important news about your monthly newsletter…Picerne Military Housing is excited to announce that, beginning on October 1, you will receive your monthly newsletter via e-mail. Hard copies of the newsletter will no longer be distributed door-to-door. As you know, Picerne Military Housing’s newsletter provides a wide variety of helpful information, including exciting neighborhood event details and seasonal reminders.

What will the new e-newsletter look like?At the beginning of each month, you will receive an e-mail from email@picernemh.com containing your e-newsletter. Don’t forget to add email@picernemh.com to your e-mail account’s address book! This will ensure our newsletter is not classified as spam in your inbox, and that you will receive all of our exciting and informative updates. Each digital newsletter will include brief articles on various topics; these topics were chosen by residents who recently participated in our Resident Communication Survey. Most of the articles will contain links to connect you back to our website to find out even more information.

What do I need to do?It is important to note that your newsletter will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your account. If you have not done so already, please contact your Neighborhood Office to confirm that the e-mail address on file

is accurate. If more than one person in your household wishes to receive the e-newsletter, be sure to let your Neighborhood Office know so they can add an additional email address to your file.

As we stated previously, don’t forget to add email@picernemh.com to your e-mail’s address book!

Why is Picerne Military Housing going digital?Your newsletter is going digital as a result of resident feedback. It is also part of our company-wide efforts to minimize our use of natural resources, like paper and ink. The switch to a digital newsletter will also ensure that all information is readily accessible to you on the Internet, whether you are on the go or at home.

Will the e-newsletter be available elsewhere?We will continue to have hard copies of the newsletter available for pick-up at each Neighborhood Office. Each newsletter will also be posted on our website, should you miss its arrival in your inbox.

Calendar EventsThursday, September 6 – Association of Bragg Officers’ Spouses Membership Sign-up – This stroller-friendly membership sign-up event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fort Bragg Club. Tuesday, September 18 – Newcomers Orientation – If you’re new to Fort Bragg, or simply want to know more information about the resources available at FortBragg, come to the Relocation Readiness Program’s Newcomers Orientation and speak with the experts! The welcome orientation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Ste Mere Eglise Neighborhood Center. Drop in for as little or as long as you’d like! Snacks will be available. Tuesday, September 18 – Cooking on a Budget –This exciting class will be held at The Clubhouse at Linden Oaks from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Learn how to plan and prepare healthy meals while keeping your budget in mind. In this hands-on class, you will also prepare a nutritious lunch and then enjoy the meal! Pre-registration is required, and spacing is limited. Suicide prevention information

Service Members and their families are strong and face many adventures throughout their military career. However, the military can also be stressful at times, leading some to have thoughts of suicide. Please remember that the military community has several local resources to help Service Members and their families during these difficult times, including:

• National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: (800) 273-8255

If someone you know is talking about suicide, get them assistance immediately with three steps –

Ask, Care,

Escort. Ask your loved one if they are thinking of killing themselves. Care for your loved one – actively listen to show understanding, and remove any means that could be used for self injury. Escort your loved one – never leave them alone! Escort them to Chain of Command, Chaplain, Behavioral Health Professional, or Primary Care Provider.

Boy Scout popcorn sales are back

Boy Scouts will sell popcorn door-to-door from September 22 to October 27. All scouts will be accompanied by a chaperone. As you may know, proceeds from all sales will go toward funding the scouts’ activities. Thank you in advance for any support that you are able to provide the scouts during this time!

Great news! The Alexander Child Development Center in Linden Oaks is now open. The center is open 5:30 a.m. to 6:15 p.m. and is located at 527 Rockefeller Boulevard. Pre-school (part day or full day), strong beginnings, and hourly care are available at the center for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.
