• The traditional SOCAD Student Agreement is a paper document; the form can be down-loaded from the SOCAD Web site
• The SOCAD Student Agreement is also embedded in GoArmyEd
The SOCAD Student Agreement• The SOCAD Student Agreement serves as a “contract for degree” between
the college and the student
• The SOCAD Student Agreement should identify the degree, degree requirements, SOC Course Category Codes that apply
• The SOCAD Student Agreement should reflect a formal evaluation of prior learning and a clear statement of remaining degree requirements
• Credit awarded for MOS or Service School, from testing, and from transfer from other colleges should be reflected on the SOCAD Student Agreement
• The SOCAD Student Agreement should be written when the eligible student has completed two or three courses toward the degree after selecting the degree
• Completing SOCAD Student Agreements for eligible students is an important responsibility of a college’s participation in SOCAD;; directions can be found in Chapter 4 of the SOC DNS Handbooks and on the SOC Web site

The college writes Student Agreements for all Handbook-listed degrees Core college may write “open network” Student Agreements
• Who should receive a Student Agreement?
All active-duty servicemembers Army National Guard, Reservists (active-duty and not) Spouses and college-aged children of servicemembers (active or reserve component) A SOCAD college can write a Student Agreement for military students in other services
• SOCAD schools that are not LOI schools will create all of their SOCAD Student Agreements in the traditional manner; SOCAD colleges that are LOI schools may create electronic Student Agreements through GoArmyEd for degrees that are fully-developed in GoArmyEd and SOCAD Student Agreements for all other degrees

Chapter 4 of the DNS-2 or DNS-4 Handbook includes detailed instructions Instructions are also available on the SOCAD Web site The form itself can be down-loaded from the SOCAD Web site
• GoArmyEd electronic SOCAD Student Agreements
If the student has an account in GoArmyEd (currently: active-duty Soldiers and Reservists), either a traditional SOCAD Student Agreement or an electronic SOCAD Student Agreement will be required by the GoArmyEd system If the degree being sought is fully-developed within the GoArmyEd portal, the SOCAD college uses Student Agreement interface procedures for creating the SOCAD Student Agreement electronically
• The next several slides show how SOCAD Student Agreements are processed• LOI colleges with questions about their SOCAD Student Agreements should discuss these issues with their Academic Liaison • The SOCAD Project Director is also available to discuss any SOCAD Student Agreement issue or problem
