The Challenge
The AA provides an onlineservice complementingthe products connectedwith roadside service andcar related inormation,hence the importance omaintaining a rst-classwebsite. The AA requested anumber o FDM Consultantswith various specialist skillsto work on all aspects otheir website, including;business methods, design,data access and testing.
The Challenge
BSkyB have a ast movingproject environment withintermittent releases. Testingon 3rd party sotware isinvariably squeezed meaningthat BSkyB require additional
assistance during projectpeaks, to enable testingto be carried out withoutcompromising the quality othe end product on release.Thereore, a knowledgeableFDM Testing team wasrequested at short noticeto support a large in-housesales application.
The Challenge
Citigroup needed to re-engineer its Global PrimeFinance technology platorm.Part o the strategicreview involved replacingthe existing InternationalStock Record System and
migrating all the data intoa new/improved system.FDM Group were chosenor this project, tasked withdelivering successul resultswithin strict timescales. Inorder to meet their deadline,selecting the right team oConsultants was crucial.
The soluTion
The initial FDM teamon-site consisted o threedevelopers and a TeamLeader. FDM then wenton to supply the AA with48 Consultants, rangingrom Java Developersand Designers, Technical,Business and DesignArchitects to OracleDatabase Consultants andTesters. The project wasmanaged strategicallyrom start to nish.
The soluTion
FDM allocated a teamo nine Testers assignedto carry out load andperormance testing or thebusiness as usual (BAU)project work stream. FDM
also carried out knowledgetranser in relation to anautomated regressionpack and adopted a phasedapproach, which involvedworking on-site with BSkyBinitially, with a long-termview o transitioning theservice o-site to FDMsLondon Test Lab.
The soluTion
Three experienced FDMTechnical Team Leaderswere assigned to theproject, as well as anumber o Java and .NetDevelopers. In order toretire the existing system,
these teams worked ondeveloping a new platormand several interaces, aswell as the enquiry andreporting unctionality.The requirements weresplit into multiple projectsrunning concurrently, tomake the best use o time.
The ouTCome
When the AA.com becamepart o the AA community,FDM was invited to bid orpreerred suppliership.Now, FDM provides bothreelancers and FDMConsultants to the AA aspart o their preerredsupplier list. Weve beenworking with the AA orover eight years, andcurrently theyre one oFDMs top ten clients(by revenue).
The ouTCome
FDM invested in bespoketraining or our TestAnalysts (on behal oBSkyB) in perormancetools to increase theirskill-levels, quickly
getting to grips with a verycomplex application. Theengagement has beenso successul that FDMreplaced BSkyBs high-costcontractors with FDM TestAnalysts, saving BSKYBa large sum o money, aswell as oering additionalfexibility o service.
The ouTCome
FDM managed three teamsthat were integrated withCitigroups technical andbusiness employees, as oneseamless overall projectsolution. The blended mixo skills brought in by our
Consultants led to a skills-transer rom our more seniorConsultants to all projectteam members, as well askeeping costs down. The rstphase was completed aheado time and within budget.Further phases are ongoingthroughout the year.
