Services The Rural Association offers to members as well as non members the following services: Livestock sector accounts for 12,62% (US$ 2054 millions) of the GDP with an ave- rage growth of 5,35% during the last six years The livestock sector absorbs 18,5% of the Paraguayan active work force (553.000 persons) More than 2 million people live from livestock production in Paraguay Between 2003 and 2013 meat exports increased 1720%. The livestock sector creates business opportunities to more than 8000 companies. Total Land Area of Paraguay: 40.675.200 Hectares (101.688.000 acres) Livestock land area utilized for livestock production: 16.295.000 hectares (40.737.500 acres) Forest area protected by livestock production: 14.288.619 hectares (35.721.547 acres).
