"The scriptural formula for stipulating conditions: what is it, when must it be followed, and why" - WEEKLY CHABURAH by Rabbi Noah Gardenswartz (Mondays at 8:30 PM)

Following his mentors’ approach, Rabbi Gardenswartz will lead an analysis of the rules for making a legal act (e.g. financial transactions, marriage, divorce) conditional. Close readings and analysis of the Talmud with heavy concentration of applicable Rishonim (ie Tosfos, Rashbam Ritva, Ram-bam…). The major focus of the next few chaburahs will be analyzing and understanding the opinions of many geonim and rishonim who limit the requirement to adhere to the rules in one way or anoth-er.

Rabbi Noah Gardenswartz is a member of the Talmud faculty at the Frisch School and a rosh cha-burah at Yeshivah University. He studied for four years at Yeshivat Har Etzion under the tutelage of Rav Aharon Lichtenstein, including one year as a fellow in the Kollel Gavoha and teacher in the ye-shiva’s program for American students. At Yeshiva University he studied in the shiur of Rav Michael Rosensweig while earning a BA in philosophy, and received awards for Excellence in Philosophy, Talmud, Jewish Studies, and Hebrew. Rabbi Gardenswartz earned his Semikhah at RIETS as a member of the Wexner Semikhah Honors Program, before serving for four years as a fellow in the Bella and Harry Wexner Kollel Elyon. He was editor of the most recent volume of Kol Tzvi, the Kollel Elyon’s journal of talmudic studies, and has authored several articles in a variety of publications. He lives in Bergenfield with his wife Aliza, a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellow at Westchester Medi-cal Center, and their three children, Zevi, Shai, and Aryeh.

Camp Slapshots Camp Slapshots, founded in 2003, is a one week sports day camp for boys entering grades 3-9. Camp takes place at Torah Academy of Bergen County in Teaneck. 2 beautiful gyms and outdoor fields and courts. Ses-sions are during the weeks of July 31st, August 7th and August 14th.
