MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope each and every one of you enjoyed a

beautiful Christmas, filled with the peace and joy

that comes only from our Savior. Throughout the

month of December, our team in Ecuador worked

tirelessly to distribute more than 1,000 Christmas

presents to the vulnerable children we serve

through ministries dedicated to meeting the

spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of families

living in extreme poverty. For some of these

children, this year’s Christmas present was the first

gift they had ever received. Just look at those

smiling faces! The greatest joy we could have,

though, is knowing that each of these children are

receiving the opportunity to hear and respond to

the greatest gift of all: the Gospel.

On a more personal note, it was truly a gift to get to spend Christmas with loved ones in the States this

year. I must admit it was hard to be away from my team in Ecuador, though. Boy was I surprised and

blessed by the creative ways they included me from afar… see if you can spot my face in this team photo!

As 2019 comes to an end, it seems only fitting to reflect back on and acknowledge all the Lord has accomplished in this year. Would you join us in praising Him for all He has done through us and for us?

He moved in the hearts of 74 individuals across six churches to publicly declare their faith in Christ through baptism!

He doubled the number of ministries serving children and their families living in extreme poverty (from two to four) and quadrupled the number of children we serve (from approximately 250 to more than 1,000)!

He provided the means to construct two new children’s centers (one in San Vicente and one in El Edén), to complete the construction of our church in San Vicente, and to construct two new homes for families in San Vicente whose homes were destroyed in the 2016 earthquake!

He placed a unified desire in the ICI Ecuador team to see 100 churches planted in Ecuador and in the surrounding nations over the next 30 years! Lord willing, 2020 will bring the first two of these 100 church plants, with one new church in Ecuador’s Amazon region and one new church in Colombia!

He launched Servicios, Ventas y Soluciones (SVS), a para-ministry business designed to help fund future ICI church planting endeavors in Ecuador and in the surrounding nations!

He orchestrated the very first IAM Vive Conference in Ecuador!

He led Geovanni, one of our Ecuadorian pastors, and his family to pursue cross-cultural missions. The Bohorquez Segura family will, Lord willing, be moving to Southern Chile this Spring. Our prayer is that they will be the first of many Ecuadorian missionaries sent by ICI to serve the nations!

He opened the door for us to begin a coffee house ministry, Roots Coffee, opening (Lord willing) in February 2020! Our vision is that this would be a place where Gospel conversations take place and Kingdom-changing relationships are developed.

He added two individuals to the ICI Ecuador team, blessing us with Karito (Jeremy’s wife) and Isabella (Samuel and Paola’s daughter)!

He confirmed His desire for me to serve long-term in Ecuador! To date, He has provided 72% of my monthly support need. I am scheduled to be commissioned by my sending church on January 26th and will potentially be returning to Ecuador in February!

I hope you will also join us in praying for what the Lord has in store for 2020. We are so excited about the many opportunities we have in the coming year to continue extending His Kingdom!
