    Chapter 11 Centre of Mass

Chapter 12 Rotational Motion of a Rigid Body: Moment of Inertia

Experiments 1. Equilibrium of three concurrent coplanar forces: To verify the

parallelogram law of forces and to determine the weight of a

    body.

    2. To find the acceleration due to gravity by measuring the vari-

ation in time period (T) with effective length (L) of a simple pen-

dulum, plot graphs of T vs 𝐿 and T2 versus L.

    3. To find the force of limiting friction for a wooden block placed

on a horizontal surface and to study its relationship with normal

reaction. To determine the coefficient of friction.

    September Chapter 13 Gravitation-I

    Chapter 14 Gravitation-II

    Chapter 15 Elasticity

    Chapter 16 Fluid Pressure

Chapter 17 Flow of Liquids- Viscosity

    Chapter 18 Surface Tension

    Revision

Experiments: 1. To find the downward force along an inclined plane, acting on

a roller due to gravitational pull of earth and study its relationship

with angle of inclination (θ) by plotting a graph, between force

    and sin θ.

    2. To find the force constant of spring and to study variation in

the time period of oscillation with m of a body suspended by the

spring. To find acceleration due to gravity by plotting a graph of

    T against 𝑚.

    Chapter 21 Thermodynamics

Chapter 22 Isothermal and Adiabatic Thermodynamics Process

Experiments 1. To study the variation in volume with pressure for a sample of

air at constant temperature by plotting graphs between p and 1

    𝑉

    and between p and V.

    2. To study the fall in temperature of a body (like hot water or

liquid in calorimeter) with time. Find the slope of the curve at four

different temperatures of the hot body and hence, deduce New-

    ton’s law of cooling.
