• To safeguard children from becoming at risk through advocacy of child rights and the development of public awareness of children issues.

The Ministry of Youth and Culture - Jamaica

• The Ministry of Youth & Culture is the central government body primarily responsible for the development and welfare of Jamaica’s youth. All the initiatives of the ministry serve to protect and enhance the lives of young people and assist them in becoming contributing members of society.

• The ministry is also mandated to protect and preserve Jamaica’s culture and cultural artifacts for future generations.

The British Virgin Islands

• Rhone Marine Park - The Wreck of the Rhone is the first and only Marine National Park in the British Virgin Islands. It is the most celebrated dive site in the BVI, and a major recreational attraction. The park includes examples of fringing reef habitat and sea grass beds.

• These goals respond to the world's main development challenges which span the three pillars – economic, social and sustainable development and their intersections and inter-linkages.

• Policies are the means by which objectives will be achieved.

• A guide to how to meet the organisation’s objectives.

• A statement of commitment to a stated (usually written) broad requirement and often used in an organisation to instruct personnel as to a required outcome of a series of actions.

Policies

• Policies include guidelines, procedures, rules, programmes, control systems and budgets established to support efforts to achieve stated objectives.

• Therefore, policies become important management tools for implementing these objectives.

Social Policy

• Social policy acts as a framework that supports balanced and effective governance and healthy growth and interaction of an nation’s many facets.
