Outcome 2: Be able to develop a plan with team members showing how team objectives will be met

Discuss with team members how team objectives will be met: Written, verbal and non-verbal communication, negotiation skills, action planning, agenda setting, holding team meetings.

Ensure team members participate in the planning process and think creatively: Brainstorming, planning models (e.g. SWOT analysis – strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, PEST analysis – political, economic, social, technological), management style (e.g. democratic, consultative, participative), motivation theory (e.g. Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor), methods of creative thinking (evolution, synthesis, revolution), Blooms taxonomy.

Develop plans to meet team objectives: Knowledge of organisational strategic plan, making strategy operational, action planning, setting goals for each areas of objectives and describing what needs to be done to achieve these, analysis of activities and decisions required, creating organisation structure, establish targets and measurement of performance for team activity.

Set SMART personal work objectives with team members: SMART objectives (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Based), negotiation skills, written, verbal and non-verbal communication, establish targets and measurements of performance for individual, identify how these will be reviewed.
