MESSAGE FROM FR. JULIO WELCOME HOME

Thanks be to God, we have the opportunity to once again fully live the sacraments that Christ and the Holy Spirit offer us in the Church; the house of God and house of the children of God.

The Holy Spirit is the soul of the Church; We have received him through the sacraments and open our-selves to him daily through faith. He is the one who

fills our hearts with love and divine life, the source of all good, wwho makes our hearts overflow with gratitude for the author of all good, our dear Father God.

Even in the midst of the setbacks of this imperfect world, de-spite all the limitations and things to regret in everyday life, despite the difficulties and bad news that this world brings us, in which many are without the light of faith and without knowledge of God, we can live the fruits that the Holy Spirit gives us. Those do not depend on any external cause, nor can anything or anyone prevent or hinder them. It is enough that we open the door to Him by faith, to experience his llove, joy and peace.

I would like everyone to feel at home in our parish at St. Lou-is. Let us make it our second home. We can make our parish community our second family, or our extended family, be-cause we are: children of the same Father in heaven, brothers in Christ. So, I say: WELCOME HOME.

Perhaps some of us have not been here for more than two months, but I tell you that mmany of our brothers have been coming and collaborating with all of us, giving their time, their sacrifices and efforts, mmoved by the Spirit, for the love of God, to improve our facilities, as you can see. Everything cleaner and cared for, new things inside and outside the tem-ple; thanks to the loving effort of some of our brothers. AAn applause of gratitude to them, and to many of you who have continued to contribute your offering and have made these improvements possible: THANK YOU.

I would like you to feel the parish as your home to love it so much as to see how to improve it, for the love of God and the community itself. EEveryone is welcome to collaborate in the construction of the Kingdom of God, both materially and spiritually, according to the gifts and charisms that God has given each one of us.

From the one who collaborates with his prayer, with his preaching, giving good advice or teachings, to the one who wants to bring something to decorate the altar, or a small tree or plant for our green areas; the one who sees something damaged and wants to fix it, something that needs painting and can improve it etc. WWe should all feel our parish as the house of God and of the children of God where we not only receive much from God, but also have the opportunity to reciprocate his love, moved by gratitude, to love God and the brothers in the faith. Lord, give us your Spirit so that we are always capable of loving our neighbor as you please, be-ing uplifting in everything we say and do.

MENSAJE DE PADRE JULIO BIENVENIDOS A SU CASA Gracias a Dios tenemos la oportunidad de volver a vivir más plenamente los sacramentos que Cristo y el Espíritu Santo nos brindan en la Iglesia, casa de Dios y casa de los hijos de Dios.

El Espíritu Santo es el alma de la Iglesia; lo hemos recibido por los sacramentos y nos abrimos a Él a diario por medio de la fe. Él es quien llena nuestro corazón del amor y la vida divina, fuente de todo bien, que hace desbordar nuestro corazón de gratitud para el autor de todo bien, nuestro querido Padre Dios.

Aun en medio de las contrariedades de este mundo imperfec-to, pese a todas las limitaciones y cosas que lamentar en la vida cotidiana, pese a las dificultades y malas noticias que nos trae este mundo, en el que muchos están sin la luz de la fe y sin conocimiento de Dios, ppodemos nosotros vivir los frutos que el Espíritu Santo nos da. Esos no dependen de ninguna causa externa, ni puede impedirlos ni obstaculizarlos nada ni nadie. Basta que le abramos la puerta a Él por la fe, para ex-perimentar su aamor, gozo y paz.

Quisiera que todos se sintieran como en su propia casa en nuestra parroquia de San Luis. Que hicieran de ella su segunda casa; pueden hacer de nuestra comunidad parroquial su se-gunda familia, o su familia extendida, pues lo somos: hijos del mismo Padre del cielo, hermanos en Cristo. Por ello les digo: BIENVENIDOS A CASA.

Tal vez algunos llevan ya más de dos meses sin venir, pero les cuento que mmuchos hermanos nuestros han estado viniendo y colaborando con todos nosotros, dando su tiempo, sus sacrifi-cios y esfuerzos, mmovidos por el Espíritu, por el amor de Dios, para mejorar nuestras instalaciones, como se pueden dar cuenta. Todo más limpio y cuidado, nuevas cosas dentro y fuera del templo, gracias al esfuerzo amoroso de algunos her-manos nuestros. UUn aplauso de gratitud para ellos, y para muchos de ustedes que han seguido aportando su ofrenda y han hecho posible estas mejoras: GRACIAS.

Me gustaría que sintiendo la parroquia como su casa la amen tanto como para ver el modo de mejorarla, por amor a Dios y a la comunidad misma. TTodos son bienvenidos a colaborar en la construcción del Reino de Dios, tanto en lo material como en lo espiritual, según los dones y carismas que Dios les ha dado a cada uno.

Desde el que colabora con su oración, con su predicación, dando buenos consejos o enseñanzas, hasta el que quiere traer algo para decorar el altar, o un arbolito o planta para nuestras áreas verdes; el que ve algo estropeado y quiera arreglarlo, algo que necesita pintura y pueda mejorarlo etc. Todos debemos sentir nuestra parroquia como la casa de Dios y de los hijos de Dios en donde no solo recibimos mucho de Dios, sino que también tenemos oportunidad de corresponder a su amor, movidos por la gratitud, para amar a Dios y a los hermanos en la fe. Señor danos tu Es-píritu para que seamos siempre capaces de amar a nuestro prójimo como a ti te agrada, siendo edificantes en todo lo que decimos y hacemos.

SANTA JOAQUINA/SAINT JOACHIMA 10 de junio

Nacida en una familia aristocrática en Barcelo-na, España, Joaquina tenía 12 años cuando ex-presó su deseo de convertirse en una monja carmelita. Pero su vida tomó un giro completa-mente diferente a los 16 años con su matrimo-nio con un joven abogado, Theodore de Mas. Ambos profundamente devotos, se convirtieron en franciscanos seculares. Durante sus 17 años de vida matrimonial criaron ocho hijos.

La normalidad de su vida familiar se vio interrumpida cuando Napoleón invadió España. Joachima tuvo que huir con los niños; Theodore se quedó atrás y murió. Aunque Joaquina volvió a experimentar el deseo de ingresar a una comunidad religiosa, ella cumplió con sus deberes como madre. Al mismo tiempo, la joven viuda llevó una vida de austeridad y eligió usar el hábito de la Tercera Orden de San Francisco como su vestimenta ordinaria. Pasó mucho tiempo en oración y visitando a los enfermos. Cuatro años después, con algunos de sus hijos ahora casados y los más jóvenes bajo su cuidado, Joaquina confesó su deseo de que un sacerdote se uniera a una orden religiosa. Con su aliento, ella estableció las Carmelitas Hermanas de la Caridad. En medio de las guerras fratricidas que ocurri-eron en ese momento, Joaquina fue encarcelado brevemente y luego exiliado a Francia durante varios años.

Reflexión: Joaquina entiende la pérdida. Ella perdió el hogar donde crecieron sus hijos, su esposo y finalmente su salud. A medida que el poder de moverse y atender sus propias necesidades disminuía lentamente, esta mujer que había cuidado toda su vida por los demás se vol-vió completamente dependiente; ella necesitaba ayuda con las tareas más simples de la vida. Cuando nuestras propias vidas se salen de control, cuando la enferme-dad y el duelo y las dificultades financieras atacan, to-do lo que podemos hacer es aferrarnos a la creencia de que Joachima se mantuvo: Dios siempre nos cuida.

June 10th Born into an aristocratic family in Barcelona, Spain, Joachima was 12 when she expressed a desire to become a Carmelite nun. But her life took an altogether different turn at 16 with her marriage to a young lawyer, Theodore de Mas. Both deeply devout, they became secular Fran-ciscans. During their 17 years of married life they raised eight children.

The normalcy of their family life was interrupted when Napoleon invaded Spain. Joachima had to flee with the children; Theodore remained behind and died. Though Joachima re-experienced a desire to en-ter a religious community, she attended to her duties as a mother. At the same time, the young widow led a life of austerity and chose to wear the habit of the Third Order of St. Francis as her ordinary dress. She spent much time in prayer and visiting the sick. Four years later, with some of her children now married and younger ones under their care, Joachima con-fessed her desire to a priest to join a religious order. With his encouragement, she established the Carmelite Sisters of Charity. In the midst of the fratricidal wars occurring at the time, Joachima was briefly imprisoned and later exiled to France for several years. Reflection: Joachima understands loss. She lost the home where her children grew up, her husband, and finally her health. As the power to move and care for her own needs slowly ebbed away, this woman who had all her life cared for others became wholly dependent; she required help with life’s simplest tasks. When our own lives go spinning out of control, when illness and bereavement and financial hardship strike, all we can do is cling to the belief that sustained Joachima: God watches over us always.

SE SIGUE RECOMENDANDO A TODOS CUIDAR EXHAUSTIVAMENTE TODAS ES-TAS MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD EN TODAS PARTES, DADO QUE EL RIESGO NO ACABA AÚN.

Guidelines on returning to mass: THE RISK OF CONTAGION IS STILL HIGH, RESRICTIONS ARE STILL IN PLACE. We must fol-low these directions for everyone’s safety and well being: -No more than 100 hundred will be allowed in-side the church for mass. -You must bring your own mask and hand sani-tizer -We must keep a six ft distance between our-selves and others that do not live with us. -No physical contact with others during mass, even to offer the sign of peace. -No food sales after mass. -The Blood of Christ will not be given during Communion. -We must receive the Body of Christ in our hands. -There will be no holy water at the church en-trances. -There will be no church gatherings or activities other than for mass; all church group meetings and chatechism are still postponed until further notice. WE ASK THAT EVERYONE DO THEIR PART AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUC-TIONS AT ALL TIMES, AS THE RISK OF GETTING SICK REMAINS.
