• Coordinates news media coverage & responds to media queries

• Provides PA guidance up and down the chain of command

• Principle advisor to the commanding officer on PA issues

• Develop & use a Public Affairs Plan as a working guide• Conduct PA training• Make Station visits• Be involved in community relations activities• Prepare/disseminate Public Affairs guidance• Monthly conference call

• Social Media (esp. Facebook)• Publicize your recruiters (hometown heroes and local force for good)• Serve as liaison for visiting Navy Performance and Demonstration Teams (Leap Frogs, Blue Angels, etc.)• Contribute stories to Navy Recruiter Magazine.• Weekly report to CNRC PA and as required (W-1R)

• Communication is the Key… keep your PAOs informed and involved!

• Use Social Media to communicate, inform and educate the public, prospects, and future Sailors in DEP as well as members of your command.

• Publicize your local recruiters as hometown heroes and a local force for good.

• Contribute to Navy Recruiter Magazine.

• Weekly report and monthly conference call helps increase visibility for your command and improves communication between your PAO and CNRC PAO.
