2015 celebrates SFHA’s 40th Anniversary year and in June, Dunblane Hydro will throw open its doors and welcome over 250 delegates, exhibitors, sponsors, partners, speakers and housing apprentices to the SFHA Annual Conference.
Over the course of two days, delegates will be treated to a range conference activities focusing on leadership at strategic level. They will enjoy listening to keynote political leaders and learning from expert speakers, attending seminars, networking at the exhibition and have the opportunity to engage and enjoy one of the key features of the conference; the Apprentice Challenge.
Apprentice Challenge
The award-winning Apprentice Challenge returns for the second year. Showcasing the future generation of leaders, 22 young apprentices from housing associations across Scotland will be divided into teams and set a challenge to complete over the two days of the conference. Throughout the event, delegates will have the chance to speak to the apprentices, keep up-to-date on their progress of and assess how well they’ve done in the challenge. The Apprentice Challenge provides a great opportunity for young people in our sector to improve skills and confidence, network with leaders, make new friends and compete for an award.
40th Anniversary Exhibition Marquee
To celebrate our anniversary, the conference’s exhibition will be held in the 40th Anniversary Marquee. This area will form the networking hub of the conference, with exhibitors from the leading suppliers to the sector and expert advice from SFHA staff and exhibitors.
With the help of our conference sponsors, partners and exhibitors, there are lots anniversary activities to enjoy, including:
• A map of Scotland where you can “check in” to help build a picture of who’s attending
• A video booth where you can tell us your thoughts and plans for the future of affordable housing
• For all you competitive people, there will be a reaction table game
• Group photographer to get team photos
There will be lots going on and plenty of activities to enjoy over the course of the two days.
About the Venue
For our special year, we have booked Dunblane Hydro. Centrally located in Scotland with good transport links, this venue offers high quality accommodation and facilities, including a LivingWell Spa. With traditional Scottish hospitality and standards of service and with food being overseen by chef Nick Nairn, SFHA looks forward to a welcoming conference at the Hydro.

“Playing Politics” are Vic Rodrick and Annie Gunner Logan, Scotland’s political parody specialists who will provide a comical and entertaining set, with hilarious lyrics set to familiar tunes lampooning just about everything and everyone –nothing and no-one is safe – even housing will get a mention!
Vic and Annie have earned rave reviews with their musical comedy set, having appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe three times.
