Success story with Swiss TelevisionSwiss Television (SF) was founded in 1953 and is the most popular televi-sion channel in the German speaking part of Switzerland. With a market share of 34.2% and a turnover of CHF 448 million, the company is the clear market leader. The programme of Swiss Television is addressed to all view-ers in the German speaking part of Switzerland and takes into considera-tion the interests of both the majority and of all minorities. With its pro-gramme, SF wants to inform, entertain and strengthen solidarity within the society as well as encourage the understanding for each other.

Challenge

Like many other companies, Swiss Tele-vision formerly used Excel tables for the management of job advertisements and of candidates. As a result of the change to the web-based «umantis Recruiting» solution, SF expected a dynamic and clearly arranged platform, where different persons can simul-taneously access the available dossiers and job advertisements. A further expectation concerned the simplification of the internal communication as well as the communica-tion with the applicants. Because application documents for SF are often completed with multimedia data, the new solution should also be able to manage larger amounts of data.

Why umantis?

Throughout the evaluation phase, Swiss Television initially checked other providers’ solutions. Because of the simple application and the quick implementation, they decided to go for umantis. Meanwhile the intro-duction of umantis dates back a year and succeeded without large training efforts. The first successes were recorded already im-mediately after the implementation. Thanks to umantis, it was possible to optimise the recruiting management of SF in terms of a «Quickwin».
