RICHARD WILKES, DVM has practiced companion animal medicine for over 30 years in St. Petersburg, Florida. He is the founder and president of Purchasing Services, Inc., a buying alliance of independent veterinary practices that has grown to over 1,600 member practices in the Southeast.

Dr. Wilkes is active in organized veterinary medicine both at the state and national level. He is past president of the Florida Veterinary Medical Association (FVMA) and currently serves on the AVMA Political Action Committee. He was the recipient of the AVMA Russell H. Anthony Award in 2006 and the FVMA’s Distinguished Service Award in 2007.

MR. GARY GLASSMAN, CPA has been a practic-ing Certified Public Accountant since 1976. In 1988, he became a partner of Burzenski & Company, P.C., an accounting and financial management firm. Mr. Glassman focuses on the field of veterinary practice management and specializes in financial management and tax issues for practices and their owners.

Mr. Glassman serves on the editorial board of Veterinary Economics magazine where he contributes regular articles. He also is a frequent speaker on financial and tax topics at national veterinary conferences.
