    at mateoat mateodowntown los angeles

    Large scale shopping center located at the crossroads of mateo and palmetto in downtown Los Angeles. The project consists of 4 individual buildings totaling around 230,000 square feet. This development will be home to a number of high-end retail stores, restaurants, boutiques as well as a 5 story concrete parking structure. I was part of a team that handled all coordination between the many disciplines of this project. We generated all the construction documents for the 4 building structures as well as all city submittals and clearances.

    Hip and trendy new lounge located in Hollywood California. The juxtaposition of lighting and materiality were paramount to this projects success. Our rm worked together with a team of interior designers to create this rather unique location with a theme of life and death permeating throughout every facet of its design.

    High-end retail and parking structure. An open oor plan with extravagant display areas were the major drivers in the design. Due to the tight site constraints and parking needs of the project; every square inch of build-able space was utilized. Special care was taken as the building and adjacent buildings were constructed to their respec-tive property lines.

    A whimsical optometry ofce located in los angeles. I worked with seed studios in a collaborative nature for this fun little project. My main focus was designing the lobby and display cases for all the eye wear. Dr Kagan had requested we take a playful approach but also maintain that doctors ofce color palette. All concept drawings were produced in rhino and rendered in vray.

    Specialty nail salon. The client wanted the boutique salon to exude luxury. The challenge of this project was to create another world within a very plain and traditional strip mall. Walking into the building would essentially transport you to another place. The focus then was placed on the interior. As with many of our projects, we had to make every bit of square footage count to maximize the amount of work stations, yet not make the space feel cramped. I personally worked with a team of interior designers to bring this project to completion.

    Mid-century modern house situated in an unincorporated part of Pasadena California. Designed for a famous actress and her director husband, creating intimate gathering spaces was a main focal point for the design. We strove to maintain the homes original design intent; from the elongated eaves to the oor to ceiling windows. Much care was taken to not overpower the original look and feel of the house. Nestled at the top of the kinneloa district, we en-framed the amazing panoramic views surrounding the front and side of the site. The home can be completely opened, blurring the lines between inside and outside.

    New single family residential project located near Manhattan Beach in Los Angeles California. Due to the sites narrow nature, a linear trajectory for all circulatory pathways was needed. We located all circulation to the center of the house. We were able to emphasize all views alloted to the property by employing oor to ceiling windows in these transitional areas, allowing for an open feeling.
