Using previous knowledge from Grade 8 Social Studies andShakespeare units you will write a memoir entitled My Life inthe Times of William Shakespeare. Your memoir will followthe RAFT format, paying attention to the Role you take on asyou write, the Audience youre writing for (me!), the Format ofyour piece (memoir) and the topic (life in the time ofShakespeare).
For this memoir, you must first create a character.
Are you:
* A peasant? * A merchant? * A noble person?* A priest/nun? * An Actor? * Male or female?* Old or young? * Healthy or ill? * Happy or
unhappy? * Single or married?
Once you have created your character, you must outline themain ideas of your memoir. What information do you want toinclude? What types of activities do people from that classengage in on a daily basis? What is their quality of life like?What are their rights and responsibilities? You may use theMiddle Ages fact sheet for inspiration, and you may also
conduct basic research on your owntime.
Your memoir must:
be written in first person be a minimum of 250 words.
