Can´t live with them, can’t live without them.

I wonder what pet would be better/worse as Tim (4

years) looks at me with his round brown begging eyes,

right now very similar to those ‘crying children’ post-

ers from the 70’s. Maybe a very small dog wouldn’t be

that bad. A little bonsai poodle. Or a cat? Yeah, that

would work! We will only have to install a fl ap door on

the balcony. Or a mini pig? Comfortable, but not cosy.

Can pigs get through fl ap doors?

Tim owns a pretty impressive collection of animals

covering almost every angle of the world (and square

inch of his room). Today this micro-universe just is not

enough. Going to the ‘Aquarium’ could help for some

hours. He likes to see the sharks get fed, say hello to

‘Sixten’, a 16 years old barracuda (a pretty impressive

age for someone of his spieces living in a tank). He

would then press his nose against the window and

stare into ‘the beast’ green and yellow algae covered

eyes. But then we would go home. Without Sixten.

Fishes is not pets. They are not very good for conver-

sation and are not to be trusted with food. Rabbits,

mice and guinea pigs on the other hand have some

of the right qualities but only last for 2 weeks. Then

you know it is you and the rodent. The kids have

long ago found something more affectionate, like a

Tamagoschi.

Sometimes Tim is an animal. Last week contained

a parrot, rabbit, cat and a monkey (his 6 year old

brother Caspar assisted as his somewhat reluctant

chimpanzee brother). But beeing a pet is not having a

pet. Not by a long shot.

I will list all possible pets to fi t in a small city apart-

ment. I will think through all good’s and bad’s. From

this I will fi nd our familys 5th member. But before that

I will make this collection and dedicate it to all dear

pet keepers to become and their adorable stand-in

cuddly toys.

Shampoodle is the product of former

photographer/advertiser/developer

Jakob Wästberg and art director/graph-

ic designer Helene Stevenberg.

It started back in 2006 as a hobby pro-

ject with the goal to produce something

that would have an impact on someone

elses life, even if small.

From the birth of the project (and our

fi rst child) until 2010 we had spread in

over 15 countries and over 6 000 kids

around the world were running around

in our Shampoodle Tracksuit (fi rst item

ever made). That’s when we realized

that our slow-cook project had reached

the status of being something more

than a hobby and that we really enjoyed

what we were doing! Today we are ma-

neuvering the poodle from our neigh-

bourhood in Stockholm, Sweden. Stay

close, because this Swedish poodle is

going to upgrade the world royaly!

OUR DESIGN

Age, size or gender is a minor

concern for Shampoodle.

Our only restriction when it comes

to design is to keep it within the

limits of our own tag line

- childishly comfortable clothes.

We believe that leasure (read: casual)

clothes works for any occation, it’s

just a question of how you wear it and

with what!

Most of our clothes are made of sweat-

shirt and jersey fabrics in contemporary

designs or classics updated with the

‘Shampoodle twist’.

Often basic but never boring.

We try not to be nostalgic in our de-

signs even if we most often base them

on sampled experiences and inspiration

from arts, science, travels, music or

movies.

OUR PARTNERS & THOUGHTS ON ENVIRONMENT

It was not a decision, it was just a

given to be a socially aware company,

to always have the welfare of our col-

laboration partners and the environment

in mind. This is not always an easy task

having most of our production made

across the world in India. But today

all our cotton jerseys are made out of

GOTS certifi ed organic cotton and we

work close to our producers to make

sure the production is made under

good working conditions, because that

is the only way to make a long time

relationship. The process continues!
