Every country in the world needs a high-quality, 1inclusive and equitable school system that
supports young people develop knowledge, skills and values to live and work in a globalised economy, contributing responsibly both locally and globally.
Research has shown that in order to participate in a global economy, young people need to be equipped with core skills, which supplement the traditional curriculum, subject-focussed approach of most education systems across the world. The British Council’s work with school systems aims to improve learning outcomes for young people in this area.
BACKGROUND
1 UNESCO Sustainable Development Goal 4.
